The media could not be loaded. First picture is the beginning of planting. Second photo is after 1 week. I decided to take a chance on this $159 Aerogarden. My purchase was 7 days ago and only have 2 pods growing. The other 4 are not showing signs of growing anything. Before, I bought this unit, I vacillated between different brands that were less expensive and around $60-80. But chose Aero based on positive Amazon reviews and that the Aerogarden had came with seed pods for convenience of getting started right away. However, the pods are not performing as wished and now thinking I should have went for the less expensive units instead. As far as the unit goes, seems great and easy to handle but very disappointing in the growth of their seeds. To purchase these seed kits individually would have cost up to $25 per kit and would think these are good quality seeds. So far not showing great results. Do your research and hopefully your garden works out better than mine after a week. Update: March 2nd, 2024: originally I posted a negative review of the Aerogarden. After a learning curve discovery it was not the machine but my inexperience of gardening. I do recommend this product as it has done very well and has held up a year later. I have harvested several varieties of herbs and vegetables. I actually use my Aerogarden to start seeds then replant outdoors in my raised garden when weather permits. I recommend the Aerogarden to anyone that loves having fresh herbs all year long. Also, have used seeds from other vendors and have had success. Happy Aerogardening! ... show more

I love my AeroGarden XL. It was so easy to set up and use following the good instructions. The seeds sprouted in a timely manner. Because of other reviews mentioning trouble with the curly parsley, I planted lettuce instead. Parsley is always hard to start. The lettuce has done great. The middle picture was taken on October 20 when the seeds started sprouting. The last photo was taken on November 21, a month later. And everything is growing great and ready for harvest every day. We are enjoying the fresh herbs, especially now that it is too cold to grow any outside. I hope to be able to use my AeroGarden for many years and am looking forward to experimenting with other plants and herbs. ... show more

What can I say? It's my 3rd Aerogarden and like the other older 2, it works great. It is easy to put together and easy to clean. I'm currently growing the seeds that came with the unit and they are all growing to almost the top of the highest light setting. Since I find these somewhat pricey, I always wait until a good sale happens and then jump on it. I've always had success growing what I want to grow and have not encountered any product break-downs or issues. My recommendations for growing is not to add nutrients until you see sprouting and covering any unused holes so algae doesn't grow on the inside. ... show more

My Aerogarden didn't even last 2 years and the pump went. Call the company and they don't sell replacement parts. Don't bother buying unless you want to waste your money.

The perfect addition to my kitchen. Shipping was lightening fast, I literally received it the day after I purchased it. I did notice that the box said the 6 pods and some plant food were included, but it wasn't in there. I looked at the item description here, and it states they're not included with this option.. just a friendly heads up to be aware of that so you don't think it's missing. It was super easy to set up. I planted cherry tomatoes, kale, banana peppers, spinach, broccoli, and coriander. The tomatoes and kale are thriving! The broccoli had began to sprout a few days after planting, but it died before it grew past the label. The pepper is sprouting now.. but the spinach and coriander aren't showing anything. Nevertheless, it's a great purchase and I definitely recommend. ... show more

Updated after 4 weeks... 7 days today already. It does work as described and honestly it is very easy. I did read the instructions but is pretty clear without it. I ordered the salad kit (I was not paying attention) and after 3 days I was already seeing some very little leaves. It does grow crazy fast. One of my pot did not germinate and I am not sure why not. Even though there is a pump you cannot hear it, it is extremely quiet. The LED light is super bright and it is on for 15 hours straight so you need to place it far away from a TV room or place where the light will bother you because in Winter, you light will be on sometime when the sun is gone. Updated 4 weeks... added pictures of my salade... ... show more

This is fuss free and the plants grow and I don't have to worry about them. It tells me if more water is needed and when to add food. The light is on a timer. The plant pods are guaranteed to grow.
