I love this planter! I took a flyer on this when it was on sale. Bought one for me and one for my mom. This is super easy and productive. These are growing so fast and taste great. It is super bright so make sure to put it in a non-sleeping room. My mom loves the light during the winter months. Both of our planters are growing like crazy and needs to be cut back every other day. The tub of water just needs to dumped out once month and add water almost every day when you have full plants. The warning lights are super helpful and making things easy to care for the plants It is quiet and I only hear the water lightly every 25 min if I really try to hear it. This is a great planter and the herbs are great! Highly recommend! You won't regret it! ... show more

I am pretty impressed with this little garden! I have a black thumb. That is exactly the opposite of a green thumb. That is usually anything that i plant or touch dies. I try really hard, but it seems like my plants just never work out. They always die. Maybe that is what makes this little garden so good... i don’t really have to touch it very much. I still expected that the seeds wouldn’t sprout, or would die quickly but that just isn’t the case. We are two weeks into this thing and they are thriving so far! Love: the simplicity of the setup. I don’t have to do much. What i do have to do is very measured, which means i cant really screw it up if i just follow the directions. Which I did! It doesn’t take up much space. Im not very responsible...read: i wont water a plant as often as ut needs it. This garden only needs water when the red light is on. Until then i just leave it alone. The light is automated. The watering is automated. Its truly me-proof. Even i cant eff this up. Minor dislike. The light is very bright. Very. I put the garden in my kitchen and the light at night lights the while room. Its so bright! It doesnt bother me much tho, and now we are used to it. I wish it would make a sound to alert you to look at the red light that is lit. What a nit-picky thing to say! Amiright? *** Note: leave the pods alone. Even if some of them take linger to sprout. Even if there appears to be a little white fuzzy mold on top... leave them alone. Mine all eventually sprouted and are growing like crazy. I bought this for my son, so we could learn about horticulture. Highly recommend! *** UPDATE *** Please prune your herbs/plants. If you dont, it will overrun your kitchen, like mine did. See most recent picture. Lol ... show more

    • It just gets better!
I love my Aerogarden! I live alone and it’s hard for me to eat an entire bag of lettuce from the store before it goes bad. Having an Aerogarden lets me harvest when I want to, without worrying about the leaves wilting. I haven’t used the herb pods it came with, as I also ordered the heirloom greens and placed those first. Highly recommend making sure you are ordering pods from Aerogarden’s official Amazon store. They have a germination guarantee, and they’ll honor it even if you’re buying from Amazon that way. One of my pods failed to germinate and Aerogarden quickly and easily replaced it for me. The heirloom greens pack is great and having had it for about three months now I can say that the plants and the harvests improve with time. I am now getting consistently good size harvests and the texture of the leaves has become more firm over time. ... show more

    • Product is fine, documentation is amazingly poor
There's really not a lot to this thing but after 4 days we're seeing stuff germinate and it seems like it'll work just fine. But .. the documentation for this thing is poor, and incomplete and leaves significant gaps and questions un answered. Of course the answers are only a "google away" on gardening sites.. but why would the manual not include "after the seeds have germinated you need to remove the plastic lids before the seedlings touch them and burn/rot" Perhaps an obvious thing... but there's no mention of this and it would be plausible that the answer was "remove when first two leaves appear" or when plant is 1/2" above cardboard" but it just ignores this... same with its explanation of the buttons (and non buttons on the front of the machine) it is written so poorly as to be unintelligible. Again this is a really simple device, yes I and most people can work it out, but why not just print the freaking information in a readable, step by step format that includes all steps with clear diagrams..the cost would be no more than the rubbish leaflet that poses as a manual.     • Really enjoying growing my own herbs indoors.
I used to garden outside quite a bit and still have a lot of plants such as garlic, chives, and onions growing semi-wild, but I wanted something I could do indoors year round. I typically ignore positive reviews and look at the negative ones, searching for trends, so I did have some reservations about purchasing this. ++Pros++ + Setup was really easy + Maintenance is easy, but as the plants get larger they do suck up the water quickly + A lot of potential if you do your research - growing your own seeds will be next for me + All of my seeds sprouted and now the light is at the highest setting & I'm pruning/collecting almost daily + They have a lot of useful info online (YouTube, AeroGarden website, etc.) + My friends saw it and now they all want one + Has inspired me to build a large indoor unit myself --Cons-- - The LED light apparently only lasts about 3 years or so and isn't replaceable (I'm sure there's a hack) - They need a better 'vacation' watering system then the one they currently sell - I intend to make my own If you have children, then this would be a good investment to get them interested in growing things. It also is a conversation starter, especially when talking about the difference in flavor between fresh and dried herbs - it is really noticeable. Lastly, once the plants mature, you'll probably be freezing a lot or taking it to family, friends, and co-workers. ... show more
