Description

The AEM-21-743C Performance Cold Air Intake System produces horsepower and torque gains by replacing your vehicle's restrictive factory air filter and air intake housing. This air intake system was designed, tuned and dyno-tested to fit specific Ford Fusion models. Air enters the system through an oversized AEM Dryflow synthetic washable air filter for outstanding air flow, filtration and performance. The air filter is located in the lower air box space and is protected by a heat shield which is designed to reduce intake air temperature and increase horsepower. The intake tubing is constructed from mandrel-bent aluminum featuring a durable gunmetal gray powder coated finish. This air intake system was developed to accommodate the engine's factory emissions control devices including the intake air temperature sensor and vent line. The tapered cylinder shaped AEM Dryflow air filter is made from an oil-free, synthetic filter media that can be used for up to 100,000 miles before cleaning is needed (depending on driving conditions). The air intake system is easy to install with commonly available tools and it is backed by AEM's Lifetime Limited Warranty. Some AEM air intakes are not legal for sale or use in California and other states adopting California emission standards, while others are 50 state legal. Very simple install (took 1 hour start to finish) Used 8/10/12mm sockets, pliers and a flat screwdriver. Well designed, 1 piece mandrel bent tube, fits exactly as it should. All hardware included. Agressive sound. Not a very noticable performance difference, but was expected, especially without a tune. (Will be worth it afterwards) Overall I am very happy I chose AEM!!! ... show more

I don't know if it changed anything with my Ford Ecoboost turbo. It was barely any sound different than stock and power difference was questionable. I even bought a tune same time. I bought one for my Mazda3 NA with manual transmission which sound was throaty and felt peppy. The media could not be loaded. I feel like the instructions could’ve been better but I figured it out. It sounds and looks beautiful. Sometimes when I’m in boost I can hear it whistling (depending on the gear and rpm). Mind you I was born half deaf and I also have the resonator + muffler deleted.

Everything was a direct fit for my 2014 ford fusion titanium 2.0 eco. The gunmetal finish is very clean. After installing and turning on my car with my hood still open, I notice the cold air intake already sucking air and it was loud. I took the car for a drive and notice some response time and heard it sucking air and increase noise from the factory blow off valve. ... show more
