  • Makes her purr much nicer!!!
Style: Roto Molded
Love it! Install took roughly an hour. The hardest part was rounding up all the tools if you don't have very many variations of the "screwdriver." The filter came with a detailed diagram instruction packet and fits snug and perfect. After the install, I noticed the engine purr much nicer. I haven't seen a gas mileage effect just yet because the product was just installed and I've been pushing the truck slightly more that I normally do to listen to the sound. So far a great purchase for the truck and I would definitely do it over again if the truck needed another filter... but because it's a K&N, you'll never need another one!!! For anyone who needs assistance, I found a video on YouTube from K&N showing install process. It's really not hard at all and believe me, it makes the truck sound amazing from the front end. PROS: Great sounding growl from motor Not too hard to install Looks amazing under the hood without being too flashy Makes driving a little more fun CONS: Did not see a MPG increase Squeals at roughly 2,000 RPM Photos on instructions hard to see ... show more

  • STRESSFULL!!!
Style: Metal Intake
I love it 100%!!! Best unit on themarket for the price and the chrome looks great. The issue was the install. I have a brand new Tundra TRD and its black... so you know leaning over the truck was on the stressfull side :) It installed simple based on the part and directions but the fact it was my truck... you get the idea. Im a little concerned about the vacume line adapter, it seems a little brittle for a winter install, so i would wait till a warm day when you tighten it down. Other than that it looks great, sounds nice (no whistle) and seems to be great quality over all. I would buy again when i get another truck or car. Cant beat K&N, or the price Amazon charges!!! ... show more

  • Works as advertised
Style: Roto Molded
Installed in my son's 2018 5.7 Tundra. Sounds better, little more power, improved gas mileage. My son and I installed it in about an hour, and we don't have much as far as mechanical skills - if you can work a ratchet and screwdriver you can install it.

  • Very impressed
Style: Roto Molded
Very impressed with the immediate horsepower gains as advertised. I was a little intimidated at first with amount of parts and hardware but the very clear and detailed instructions made it a breeze. I wish I'd bought this sooner because my 2012 Tundra 5.7L should have sounded this good long ago. Everything fit perfectly with only a slight trimming of the heat shield gasket. Very impressed by the results for a small amount of labor. Excellent product πŸ‘Œ ... show more

  • Takes a while to install, DOES improve mpg.
Style: Roto Molded
It takes a bit of time to install. I have been pretty consistent in measuring fuel economy in my mostly mixed/city driving. Prior to this intake I have done a lot of things to smoothe out the Sequoia and get optimal mpg including alignment, premium tires, high tire pressure, cleaning fuel system, new fuel pump and controller, Redline driveline fluids, Amsoil engine oil (10W30), new spark plugs, etc. Prior to the install I'd say I was at 14.1~14.3 mpg. The truck does not like to be below ~50mph or average economy starts to drop. After the install I'd say I am at 15.1~15.5 mpg and I can hold onto this average even with small town "light to light" driving mixed in there. This is NOT primarily highway driving, mind you. Anytime you install the MAF sensor into a different tube it can drastically change the performance of the sensor and they seemed to have found a good result for fuel economy. I do not care much about the power gains; they'll be minimal. The induction roar is surprisingly loud; I could take it or leave it. I did notice that the first time I started it it revved higher than normal and then cut out and died. I would say that (with the ECU reset) it definitely has higher flowing intake than the default expectation. It acted fine when I restarted it right after that. The factory intake box has extra screening in it for emissions and a "scouring pad" type of material glued onto the filter element to improve sound dampening. I previously removed these and it did help somewhat. Without them or with the K&N CAI you will get whistling sound at certain load from the engine. If you cannot tolerate ANY engine sound leave it stock. I am very happy with this product! ... show more

  • Great CAI, definitely wakes up the 5.7
Style: Roto Molded
The Cold Air Intake worked well for me on a heavily modded 2017 Tundra. With a 6” lift and 35s, it’s a lot to turn over. Also, I run a bully dog tune and have a winch bumper and winch so a hundred pounds or better additional weight on front of truck.Gas mileage jumped from 12.8 to 13.2 mpg (mainly highway driving with some city). The intake also allows the engine to maintain speed easier (I see less jumping around on the mpg view). Finally, it sounds great and throttle response is noticeably improved. ... show more

  • Wakes up the 5.7, but QC lacked on this one
Style: Metal Intake
Put this in an otherwise stock '21 Tundra. Definitely sounds more aggressive, still has that Tundra whistle though. I'm now reading that is a consequence of the design of the gasket between the throttle body and the engine. Either way, this did not fix that, but it is less noticeable with the increased sound of the engine. QC was pretty crap on the aluminum version I got. The mass flow sensor would not install because the hole in the adapter wasn't machined correctly and had metal in the way of its' install. I had to dremel it out to get it to work. That's really poor quality for something in this price range. Hence the 3 stars. Looks great once properly machined and installed. Has not caused any alarms, check engine lights, etc. ... show more
