This K&N cold air intake system is engineered for your vehicle. A mandrel-bent aluminum intake tube helps increase the volume of airflow to your engine and provides a guaranteed increase in horsepower and torque with no tune required. This intake system is paired with a washable, reusable High-Flow LIFETIME Air Filter™ featuring oiled cotton filter media. The oversized, conical design allows you to go up to 100,000 miles between filter services under normal highway driving conditions. A custom designed open heat shield helps protect intake air from the high temperature of your engine bay, and the entire system can typically be installed in less than 60 minutes. The unit wasn't difficult to install and the instructions were very helpful. Keep in mind that there are 2 fitment tubes for different engine sizes, so select the correct tube for the engine fit that you have. I have seen a gas mileage increase and the growl from the increased air flow sounds good. There is some power increase and the shifting points are smoother. The throaty growl sounds great under acceleration. Slight performance and mileage improvement but you in order to see the mileage improvement you don't get to hear the growl. In using my cruise I see between 5 and 10 percent increase in mileage ie from 15 to 17. On open freeway it has improved from 19 to 21 on average. Very clean install. I would recommend the dry charger wrap to increase its life and reduce the frequency of cleanings. The wrap also improves appearance as it comes in black, red, and blue. ... show more

Installation: Easy to install but for the emissions hoses I did upgrade to (2) brass 5/8" barb to 1/4" NPT and added my own (4) worm gear hose clamps (get the size that goes from 0.5" to 1.25"). Really a shame that K&N is too cheap to provide these. On the 6.2L the hose coupler to the throttle body seems too large but the clamps are able to secure it in place. Install instructions are clearly written, have photos, and are easy to follow though they don't really tell you which tool to use where in the process. Function: Amazing so far. Really throaty growl from the intake when you start accelerating. I have a Borla cat-back that this intake complements well. Loud in a good way. Throttle response is noticeably better. I am not expecting massive horsepower gains but the Dyno test K&N did showed about a 14 HP gain. I recommend this if you want to improve air flow into your engine and get a nice mean sound. Worth the money to me. I got the plastic roto-molded version because the Black Hawk is slightly more restrictive material and the metal intake conducts heat vs plastic which insulates. ... show more

If you've been considering buying this little upgrade, just do it. You won't regret it. Great quality product from K&N and super easy installation. I installed this on my 2018 Chevrolet Silverado LTZ 5.3 liter in a little over an hour. Highly recommend watching the installation video on YouTube. PROS: Slight improvement in HP and throttle response. Looks and sounds aggressive. CONS: Can't say you will notice an increase in gas mileage because you won't be able to keep your foot off the pedal for the angry "GROWL" sound you will hear from under the hood. Don't listen to the negative comments you read about it not sounding as good with the active fuel management system on newer Silverads. Granted, you don't hear anything when you first accelerate. When you hit around 1500 rpm is when you notice the extra gain in HP and then in comes the beastly "growl" sound. I'm sure if this was paired with an exhaust system, the two would sound absolutely amazing. If you're looking for a budget friendly upgrade with several perks, look no further. Product fits and installs as expected. I would advised just looking up a YouTube video due to the paper instructions being not super specific. Very noticeable change in the sound of the engine, throttle response and fuel efficiency. Worth the money in my opinion.

Intake looks absolutely beautiful in my blacked out truck, was a super easy install and made my exhaust sound better. Definitely has better air flow and I can hear it from the driver seat. Definitely a little pricey but the aluminum intake tube is much better than the cheap plastic ones
