  • A Work in Progress
Color: Gray Size: 7.5' x 4'
I think this lean-to shed is going to turn out just fine, so this is the first installment of a review. Once you figure out the picture book instructions, it makes sense. Having said that, certain things should have been relegated to words. 1)You need to orient frame pieces so that the holes are on the outside, as panels will be secured to those holes with screws. 2)Sometimes that won't be enough and panels might not line up with the frame holes. Don't be afraid to drill a new hole. A 3/32" drill bit for drilling metal will work just fine. 3)If a hole doesn't exactly line up, you can gently push the extruded part of the panel and it might line up the holes. 4)The sharp part of the panels are on top. Most panels have a rubberized strip in the long edges and, if you are careful, you won't get cut. 5)Many have complained about removing the protective plastic film on the outside of the panels and other pieces. I chose not to. If your shed will be out in the rain and snow, then it might be smart to peel it off. Mine will be under cover so the elements won't get under the film. 5)You can build this shed alone. I considered hiring the neighbor boy, but relented as no sense having two people on the scene who didn't know what they are doing!! It will take much longer with one obviously. 6)The hardest part so far is screwing in the panels at ground level. Get a set of knee protectors - a lifesaver! 7)One challenge us octogenarians have is getting down on the ground to secure the bottom of the panels, and then getting back up!! A cane was just too tall. But I found that my DeWalt 20v drill/driver was just the right height to lean on for leverage and strong enough to boot!! UPDATE: Everything is proceeding smoothly and the next step is attaching the roof panels, followed by doors. I'm not sure that the manufacture included the correct number of pre-drilled holes in the frame. I'm not upset any longer having to drill holes where they should have been. A written warning of this possibility would have been both honest and useful. On a positive note, the shed is very stable now that most of the side panels have been installed. And, It survived a very violent wind and rain storm this evening. Holes exist in the four corners where one could secure the shed to the concrete patio on which I've built it. I'll consider that later. UPDATE: Finished!! The 4-star rating remains. As I mounted the doors, particularly the front double doors, I discovered a "keystone" of 1" at the top an 1/4" at the bottom. I could find not assembly reason for that occuring. So, I installed some shims on the top hinges using 3 metal washers. That pulled the doors together so the sliding latch could enter the holder piece, meaning you could "lock" the doors. All in all, an acceptable shed. Don't secure anything too valuable in it, however. One can get into this shed with a screwdriver!! ... show more

  • Not Effortless Installation and a micro manual
Color: Gray Size: 7.5' x 4'
Deceptive description. the description says Effortless Installation and says there id a detailed guide. The guide had tiny little drawings without words. The person at the company was very accommodating about my concern. The product seems to be high quality at a low price, but be prepared for lots and lots of tiny pieces of hardware. They are all numbered. Maybe I was unrealistic about what to expect because the photos of the finished product look great. ... show more

  • A Dry Place To Store My Tools!
I was wanting a dry place to store my solar generator and sat this up out by our garden. I was able to set up solar panels on the roof and run them to the generator. We've had quite a few rainy days and my generator and other tools have stayed dry. Something to note, the floor is open so you will have to mow if it's sitting on the grass. We placed a little foundation and it's dry and safe from growing weeds and grass. If you follow the instructions, installation isn't too hard. I would recommend building with a friend to help hold things in place. However, I managed to build it alone and it came out well! I'm happy with it. ... show more
