  • Better than most
Style: 10' X 15' Autoshelter Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
I really like this shelter. Although it's a bit difficult for one person to put together, I managed to do it. Instructions are easy to follow. I like the bottom rails to keep the sides stable. I purchased a more expensive one a few years back with velcro tabs to keep everything connected. It broke within a year. The wind was able to rip the sides up. This product comes with ratchet straps and steel tie down wires with screw in anchors. Inexpensive but looks very durable. I am very satisfied. with this shelter. Cons are: The screws provided are different sizes. But the size differences are minimal. It's almost impossible to tell the difference. The front zippered panel and the rear panel are a bit short. There is a large gap between the bottom and the ground. I'd like to see them touching the ground. For blowing snow and rain. ... show more

  • Good for about 4-5years, longer if not in direct sun or extreme elements
Style: 10' X 20' Autoshelter Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
I originally bought this carport back in 2021. I beefed it up by screwing into pressure treated wood and used exterior deck lag bolts and washers. I also ran cording length ways to help support a plastic fence netting for extra support underneath the tarp. this thing has lasted 4 years in harsh environments, over 4 feet snow in winters. ( I would brush off the snow after about 1.5feet) extreme cold last year we had a -20F, not including Windchill. hot summers of 108-110f and wind storms of max gusts 55MPH+ and regular wind storms of sustained wind 30mph+ it has also survived a move between homes. I did take the tarps off for transport but the frame was intact going 65MPH on the freeway. the doors and back panels are still in great shape. the big tarp that goes on top and over the sides is showing signs of ware. the tarp is starting to disintegrate and rip easily. I would say after 4 years a new tarp replacement is needed if you have this in harsh environments like myself. but if you place it in a shaded spot I'm sure the tarp will last longer. quick summary---> good for 4-5 years in harsh elements. I added extra support underneath to help with our snow load. can longer if its in the shade. direct sunlight and hot summers slowly degrades the tarp. ... show more

  • AMAZING FAST WARRANTY SERVICE!
Style: 10' X 15' Autoshelter Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
In June, 2023 we bought the basic 10 by 15 Instant Garage for backyard storage in Arizona. The sun here eats almost everything but I was hoping it would last a few years anyway. Assembly was not complicated although the instructions could have been clearer. Nevertheless, the shelter went up easily and the shelter did its job well for a while. However, by the end of the year stress marks began to appear where the cover touched the framework on the sides and a couple of winds later the cover fabric began to separate and tear. The sun cooked it a lot faster than I had hoped. In mid-February we decided to ask about warranty for that kind of damage. I filled out the online warranty request form about noon, sending a few photos of the damaged areas. I received a response from the Shelter Logic Customer Service Representative Jay just a few minutes after 3 the SAME DAY approving the replacement of the cover free of charge! He also offered an upgrade to the heavy duty cover replacement covers taking $200 off of the retail prices. THAT IS CUSTOMER SERVICE AT ITS BEST. Having had a few other issues with other items from other companies, I REALLY APPRECIATE Shelter Logic's response and highly recommend them. Although I cannot afford right now to upgrade, I will plan on doing that in the future when this second cover requires replacement. THANK YOU JAY and SHELTER LOGIC for taking care of this the way you did. EXCELLENT SERVICE. Richard Bartz ... show more

  • WARNING: Not good in a location that gets any wind over time. Cover wears down and leaks horribly!
Style: 10' X 20' Autoshelter Pattern Name: Garage and AutoShelter
I was really excited when we got this car shelter. Assembly was not easy but not hard. It took my daughter and I most of the day to get it built. The anchors for it are a joke. Plan on something else. We had to anchor it in to our parking pad, so it's makeshift as there is nothing in the build to accommodate that. I used pipe straps and concrete anchors. It's been 16 months since we installed it. Where we live, we do get some windy days, typically during stormy season, but not big huge winds. (We are on the California coast.) Within 8 months, I notice that the sides of the cover where they go over the ribs of the roof and bend to the side wall were starting to wear through. I quickly covered those spots in heavy duty duct tape on the inside and outside to minimize further wear. At about the 12 month mark, the pipes were starting to twist a bit and the frame popped the straps on the anchors. The whole thing really moves even when anchored down. Today, at the 16 month mark, I went to check on the car in the shelter and it was wet from the rain storm because the roof where it meets the crest of the pipe structure had worn thin and was leaking. I then notice that the sides (which wrap around the corner pole and attach via ratchet straps to the front base) had torn about 16" up from the ratchet strap due to motion wear from the wind. I think the cover has maybe another 2-3 months before it will be completely shredded simply from rubbing against the bolt heads and edges of the frame. If you are thinking of buying this, I STRONGLY recommend reinforcing the cover with heavy duty duct tape at all spots where it comes in contact with a bolt head or corner or bend spot on the pipe structure. That might have given us a lot longer time with this cover than the short 16 months. I regret buying it and not just building a structure as that would have lasted. And a replacement cover is probably not an option. ... show more
