    • I can't believe we ever lived without these! SO MUCH EASIER than the strips....
We have a small furbaby who gets urinary tract infections, which cause urinary tract stones if we don't realize she has the infection. Unfortunately, twice now we had NO idea she had ANY issues until it was life or death because her urinary stones were totally blocking her ability to urinate. It requires immediate surgery, and because it's emergency, it's very expensive, and I do mean the thousands of dollars kind of expensive. After the second time, the vet suggested that we bring her urine in for testing once a month. Even though it isn't cheap to test her urine, it's definitely cheaper than surgery by far - and it's the only way we will know in advance that she isn't feeling well. First, we tried the urine testing strips - and they do the job BUT it's quite a mess and not a very easy task to figure out how to chase her around in the yard with a ladle to catch her urine. She knows what we're trying to do, and she isn't interested in having anything to do with that. It's really a pain. Then, the strip needs to be dipped in the urine - and you can bet along the way I've managed to get urine on my clothes, fingers and who knows what else. Nasty, but it needs to be done. We've seen the commercials for the cat litter that changes color based on feline urine PH, and have commented that we sure wish there were such a thing for dogs. And voila! One day, I saw these and ordered them. I took her out, and waited for her to squat and then just slid the pad under her. It is super absorbent, I was really surprised given how thin they are folded up. The color change is immediate, and this time her urine was within the normal range, so we won't need to take a sample in to the vet unless the pad indicates a PH inbalance. The pads would more than pay for themselves with just one saved trip to the vet for a UA. I can't say enough about these, they're so easy to use. Dogs can't tell you when something isn't right, and when they have chronic UTI's, the only proactive thing you can do is to regularly test their urine and make sure they get treated early, and it doesn't develop into a life threatening emergency. I truly wish someone had come out with these sooner, as long as these PH measuring pads are available, I will never go back to strips. Thanks for an incredibly easy and convenient product that allows us to monitor her UT health and more importantly gives us the peace of mind to know right away. No collecting urine. No transferring it to a bottle, and then bringing the bottle to the vet for testing. The convenience is awesome. ... show more

    • These are a great idea but not the best pee pad for every day use
I got these because I was worried that my older dog was drinking a lot and possibly might be developing diabetes - the pads change color depending on the pH of your dog's urine. Good news - from the pad both my dog's have regular pH urine (my older dog has also had a vet visit and got the all clear there). I think they are a good idea for monitoring changes in your dog's health but they aren't for every day IMO - they are not the best pee pads tbh. I plan to keep them for only when I have a concern regarding my dog's health. ... show more

I was so excited to try these Health Monitoring Pee Pads. My dog is 9 years old and seeing if she possibly has certain health issues is great. The pad has paw prints on it that can change colors if your dog might have a health concern. I put a pad down and my dog happily peed on it right away. The paw prints were close enough together that they got wet. The packaging has a chart on it where you can see what the results mean. The paw print changed to yellow which showed her results were in the normal range. I was happy to see this. The pads are a nice big size. There was plenty of room for my 12-pound dog (see picture). They would be good for bigger dogs also. They have no smell. They were thick enough to hold a lot of fluid and there was no tracking after my dog went potty. This is a brilliant idea and I plan to keep using these pee pads to help monitor my dog’s health. TIP: If you typically throw packaging away, take a quick picture of the chart on the package before doing so. That way you always have it to refer to so you can check the results. ... show more

I have an older 12 year old dog as well as a younger 4 year old. This is an awesome way to help monitor any problems your dogs might have. I keep my dogs in at night, thus they use pads. It seems to hold urine well and its absorbed into the pad. Pad has dog paws on it and they change color as to how your dogs urine is. There is a handy list on the back of the pad that helps you monitor. Because these are on the expensive side, I plan on using them once a week, so they should last awhile. Pheromones are incorporated into the pad, and my dogs had no problem using them. ... show more

I love the idea of being able to monitor your dogs urine with these pee pads. They are thick and very absorbant. They have the sticky tabs on the corners and the little paw prints are just adorable. I think that if your dog is healthy, these would be good for a once a week type thing just to monitor your dogs health. If it's a situation where it's more dire then using these daily is such a great idea to keep a close eye on your animals pH levels. These are just such a great idea and terrific pads. ... show more

These pads offer a great first line of defense in determining a potential health issue for our pets. The color changes from normal in the yellow/green range to red or blue for a possible out of range result. The pads are absorbent and generously sized at 26" x 30". Our pets went right to them with no hesitation at all. Although they are treated with pheromones to attract your pets, there is no discernible scent to humans, which is nice. I bought these because my rescue teacup yorkie has "accidents" on our rugs, if left alone. These are great they are the perfect size and collect the urine without leak-through. The paw prints are cute and I love that they change color to check, I'm assuming the pH of the urine. It's a great idea to know in advance if something is wrong with your fur baby. ... show more
