I bought this to help me keep my chicken infirmary clean, and it works great. I have a chicken that got attacked and needed to recover in my house, so I lined the floor of my spare shower with two of these and put her in there with plenty of food and water. These pads do a great job at containing the mess not only from her poop, but also when she knocks over the water or decides to spread her food all over the floor so she can eat it more easily. I love these. Twice a day I simply fold over each side and then roll up the dirty ones and throw down some new ones. They're decent in terms of absorption and I've never once had anything soak through. I've also used them for cat and dog pee and they work great... they don't do anything to mask the odor, but that's fine in my opinion. Traps urine and no more big yellow spots visible like on the plain white pads. It’s more of an inconspicuous dark spot that seems to fade away and the padding does absorb the odor & liquid well. I’m actually using less pads (thus saving some $) The urine smell is less noticeable so the pad doesn’t need to be changed after a single “puddle”. After the puppies checked out the pads by chewing/tearing up the first 2, with some guidance, they’re figuring out what the pads are for. I have a pad in each corner of the room and 2 pads in their puppy pen. Clean up is easier using these pads because I don’t gag at the smell or have to pick up soggy, dripping pads anymore! These are great for using as a barrier between wood furniture tops and a tablecover. Prevents condensation rings from glasses or hot dishes from staining wood surfaces. I entertain alot. I also have a dining table that is real wood and a family heirloom. I do have the big, thick protectors that were made for the table, but I dread having to drag those out every time I sit down for a meal. Enter the puppy pads! Spread them out on the surface & cover with a table cloth! These have saved saved my antique table so many times! You have a spill & it's not a rush to get everything off the table to clean it up. Nothing has soaked thru these things! I even have ones I trimmed into circles for nightstand tables & covered with a decorative table cover (kids/grandkids are famous for nightstand spills). Yeah, I have been joked on for doing this, but anyone with real wood furniture (especially antique) will understand. I will say that if you use thin white table cloths, they will show thru. But use the thicker material white table cloths and they will not. The Amazon brand works as well as any other brand in my opinion....I have noticed no difference in absorption or thickness. Look I don't know maybe it's just my dogs but from the moment I got these my dogs would not use them. I went from an occasional not using a pad to them literally not pooping on the pads at all and I do mean at all. I ended up sending these back because they were not good I don't know why. I have 2 tiny chihuahuas Captain Lillian Beans Black and white 2yrs and The Mouse Brown and White 12yrs Both have been completely trapped pad trained their whole lives. I'm a horrible owner who never wanted to walk a dog so, I pollute the environment with dog pads shoot me I get it. dogs I know ,I know chastise me about it I don't care. But I gotta tell you since I bought these for the first time they will not poop on them at all and I do mean at all. It has been a nightmare for the last 2 weeks. Every time I turn around there's a poop on the carpet not on the pad and they barely are peeing on them another annoyance thank God for my little steam clean machine but it's just been crazy. For once in a while maybe but this and that's only because Mouse does not like us to be anywhere near her when she's pooping I know stupid but it's absolutely true if were in the room where we keep the pads she will not go. It's stupid but she walks in to go and you're she's like woop and turns around we've gotten pretty good at recognizing this behavior. It's even funnier if we walk in on her then she's like oh my God staring at you while she's going like are you kidding me get out of here it's kind of funny but, not. It's really not but I don't know what to say so I'm not low rating them because they might be great it seems like they're good for everyone else just not us. I mean they don't leak they seem to hold up when they used them but I return them because we have an issue a serious issue with them and it's a waste of money so yeah. We thought maybe it was the color because our carpets the same color exactly however they pee on them so I don't know what the deal is but also that's sporadically like I said so maybe it's the smell we're not sure. I love all of the Amazon Basics potty pads that I have tried! My dog has a terminal condition which has caused her to lose control of her bodily functions and these have become invaluable. They are a great size for multiple uses, they do a good job of capturing and drawing liquids down and into the pad so it doesn't run off and leak onto the floor,and they also don't leak through the plastic. I have had a bad time with potty pads from various pet stores leaking through the plastic backing hit these do not! They are lightweight, have no smell, and are thick and layered enough to hold alot of fluid. My dog is a 3 year old beagle mix (27lbs) and she uses these and they work well. I have had dogs for decades and used these pads because they work. Now I have a 15-year-old cat who I recently adopted. I have had issues with her urine going over the side of the litter box. I bought a high litter box, but she wouldn't jump up to get into it. I purchased a rubber rug made for under litter boxes but had to toss it as I couldn't clean it enough to continue use.
