I use this to paint miniatures. You need to add some water because the paint is pretty thick for painting miniatures right up front. Color is great. Coverage is great. Goes on nice and smooth. Great paint for the price point. Containers seal nicely. I've had no leaks at all.

It is not the most impressive array of colors in this kit, but it really does the job. The mixing is easy, it dries super fast, so make sure you use a wet pallet, or just pour out enough for a quick set. It pours nicely with the eye dropper type neck on the bottles. Have yet to have any problems with the paints running off my 3d prints. Will probably stay even better with a primer coat first, but I was in a hurry to get some prints painted and didn't have the primer on hand, so I found out how tough this paint really is. ... show more

This was the very first brand I branched out into and found these are really good paints. They are priced very well and are easy to work with. I love this brand of paint so i had to get this set when i saw the price drop. paints are fantastic and only issue i had was two caps were cracked on arrival. i got a new set and one was cracked on that but just sent back the box with cracked caps for the return.

The sheer variety of available colors, textures, stains, and effects from Vallejo is amazing. The bottles may only be 0.8 ounces, but the coverage area & color saturation are equivalent to the larger 2-ounce bottles of craft paint. And when using an airbrush, only 8-10 drops + thinner is enough to get a good-sized reservoir of paint. Vallejo Air is already thinned to go straight from the bottle to the airbrush. For hobbyists who are perfectionists, they sell era-specific colors, like Revolutionary War colors, Civil War colors, and WWII American Forces, British Forces, & German Forces colors. They sell color packs for the different Rail Lines for HO hobbyists. It really takes the trial & error of searching for or mixing to get the correct color schemes. The only drawback with Vallejo is, regardless of whether you order it from Amazon, a vendor on eBay, or another online hobby store, one or more of the bottles will leak out in the package. I don't know why the lids aren't screwed on more tightly. With my first shipment, the black leaked out in the package. Amazon was good enough to send me a replacement. When I got the replacement, the black had leaked maybe a few drops, but it wasn't enough for me to send it back a second time. Even with the leak issue, I'm still a diehard fan of Vallejo & use it for all of my projects. ... show more

I did a lot of searching, and I mean a lot for a brand that has a large range of paints like citadel, at a fraction of the cost. I am aware there are things citadel makes that you just may not find a good match easily, but I don't think that's the case with Vallejo, I got dozen's of paints by this company and have been working at my Necromunda gangs and terrain all month with them, the range is amazing, and some of the mixed colors I've made I just cant imagine making out of citadel paints. Now I'm really new, and have made plenty of tiny missed the spot mistakes but I like to think that my works coming together good and I have the ability to see that vision thanks to the range of paints offered by Vallejo ... show more
