Classic and familiar smelling (this is a revamp of the 1916 Colonia, after all) Essenza is a light, very clean, feelgood masculine fragrance that smacks of refinement and Italian chic. "Refreshing" and "luxury" are words that spring to mind and spring/summer are the seasons where it will shine, but I believe it could be worn all year round. Longevity and projection are not stellar, though being a "colonia" one can't expect beast mode performance. That said, Essenza di Colonia is office-friendly and a must for old school enthusiasts; so much so that it is currently my signature scent. Yes, it is that good. Listen when it comes to cologne everyone is gonna have preferences, I for one prefer this to all others. The scent is light and crisp. People like to say where you can and can’t wear certain colognes but I hit this before the office, a date, a night out, brunch, etc and each time I feel like a million bucks. It doesn’t last super long but I like that because it’s not too overpowering. If you can’t afford to not smell like Cary Grant for more than thirty mins just carry around an atomizer. ... show more

If you’re considering this fragrance, you’ve probably done some homework already (if not, try Fragantica, for some more specific reviews). If you like the original ADP cologne, you’ll definitely love this. It is without a doubt a better version of the original.

This was a blind buy and I was TOTALLY let down and disappointed. I thought this was going to smell great because I saw that it was recommended on a YouTube video but it smells like crap. Smells like the bathroom spray after someone takes a dump. 10000% disappointed
