  • Best cost effective foam panels.
Size: 12 Pack Color: Black(Pyramid)
My Rating: 4.7 / 5 Purchased 12 X 12 X 2 Pyramid Panel 12 pack ($20) OVERVIEW: The foam panels work great for acoustics in a room. They also reduce noise to some degree, but are not capable of soundproofing a room (not the purpose). This is an overall great buy. Highly recommend the 2 inch thickness over the 1 inch thickness. PRICE: The price to quality ratio is unbeatable compared to other amazon products. The foam is good quality, but they are not very dense because these are low tier sound panels (mid tier = $60 - 75). From what I’ve tested these are the best you can find for a 12 pack under $50. UNPACKING: The foam panels come vacuumed sealed. At first I thought them might have been defected because they were as thin a paper. Leaving them out didn’t seem to work either. I ended up running a bath and letting them soak for 30-60mins. After ringing them out they looked perfect, albeit a few spots which I have to manually pull apart. After I put them in the dryer with dryer sheets on gentle dry for 45mins. They don’t come with adhesive so I used 3M double sided foam tape (great for removing off foam and walls if you rent). CONCLUSION: I would highly recommend these foam panels to anyone looking for a budget friendly option to create better acoustics, dampen sound, or for slightly reducing outside sound. ... show more

  • >20dB reduced!
Size: 12 Pack Self-adhesive Color: Black(1" X 12" X 12")
Awesome product works better than i thought it might. I built a shop vac cabinet for my CNC routers, to try to quiet down the sound of the shop vac; nothing is more annoying than the sound of a vacuum cleaner running the whole time your routers are running lol. Figuring the sound would really echo inside of the cabinet and turn it into a speaker so i bought these in anticipation of that. Sure enough once i had it done i was getting >85 dB, but once I lined the inside of the cabinet with the panels the sound dropped to >60 which is hardly noticeable over the rest of the tools. I do wish the adhesive was a bit stronger, but once you have pressed it firmly into place (maybe roll it out) i think it will be fine. I'll be buying more for sure ... show more

  • Pretty decent
Size: 24 Pack Color: Black
Perfect for absorbing sound. Only issue I have is with unpackaging it. The directions say to essentially throw it in the washer and dryer but sometimes little foam chunks fall off afterwards.

  • As long as U know these are cell foam they work well enough.
Size: 12 Pack Color: Black (Wide Wedge)
Most tiles like this around this price & quantity are sponge like cell foam. At 2'' they do a good job of stopping echoes or unwanted higher frequency sound. Very good at trapping sound for improving web casts voices in mic frequencies. What I received were more black than grey & uniform in color between different packages. U will have to soak in water & dry them in order to expand to 2 inches if U need them to look normal. ... show more

  • Dont waste your money - This is not what is advertised, not in size, or quality
Size: 12 Pack Color: Black(Pyramid)
I essentially bought several different types/brands of acoustic foam panels because I was worried about different in quality and delivery. I bought 1. "3 of New Level 6 Pack- Acoustic Panels Studio Foam Egg Crate 2" X 12" X 12" 2. "12 Pack Set Acoustic Foam Panels, Studio Wedge Tiles, 2" X 12" X 12" Acoustic Foam Sound Absorption Pyramid Studio Treatment Wall Panels" 3. "12 Pack Set Acoustic Panels, 2" X 12" X 12" Acoustic Foam Panels, Studio Wedge Tiles, Sound Panels wedges Soundproof Sound Insulation Absorbing" The first is from "Urban Mall", and the other two are from "F.Stop Labs". This review is comparing item #2 with item #1. First, both #2 and #3 arrived together, in a single box, compressed into individual 12-pack bags as can be seen in the first picture that compares the foam panel with a bag next to it. That panel in the first picture is a panel that was taken out of the bag, aired for Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday (72 hours). After 3 days the foam was all compressed, and looked really bad. It did not uncompress at all. That was the first method the seller recommended to use. Then I soaked the panel in water, squeezed the water out, and let it air dry over night. The next morning it was still damp, but the overall shape was better. The second picture compares a panel that was uncompressed for 3 days (on the right) with a panel that was left wet and then air dried (on the right). I would not recommend you to get #2 or #3 because you will have to wet each panel, squeeze it, and then find space to let it dry - that will take quite a large space. So that is one reason why not to get it. Second reason why not to get these panels is because of the quality. As you can see in the last picture, the panels arrive wrinkled, and have additional damage cuts on the back side. Third reason why not to get these is because of the product specification is not matching what you will get. I ordered the 2 inch thickness foam panels. Letting the panel air decompress will bring it to about 1.5" at best. Wetting the panels and then drying them will generate a better shape, but will still give you panels with thickness of 0.75" at the lower end, and 1.75" at the higher side. Not even close to the 2.0" that was ordered. ... show more

  • Great idea but failed product
Size: 24 Pack Color: Black(Pyramid)
All of the tiles come to you compressed which you would expect otherwise the box would be enormous. The problem is they don’t all retain their proper size once they are unpacked. I had one pack with three failed tiles and the other pack I opened. I didn’t open anymore and sent everything back. But Amazon was wonderful as they always are and refunded my purchase. If you have the patience and time to wait on replacements, it might be worth your while. That’s why I gave it a three. ... show more

  • Great sound proofing
Size: 12 Pack Self-adhesive Color: Gray(1" X 12" X 12")
Used it to keep out water pump quiet. Does a good job and the self sticking backing was fantastic sticks very well. Just the right size for my cover box over the pump. I did check with the well guy to make sure it wouldn’t over hear the pump. Well guy says it’s ok
