  • My First Gaming PC
CPU: R7 8845HS / RTX4060 Capacity: 16 inch WUXGA Style: 16GB / 1TB
The media could not be loaded. Not the biggest fan of laptops, but with this being my second one, it's impressive for what I use it for. Battery life is optimal, and of course it depends on what you are doing, but it is decent compared to my old laptop. It does have some weight to it, but nothing I can't handle even while traveling with it. Starts up quickly and I like the way the keys light up when typing. Gaming- It handles my games just fine (Farmville2, SimCity4, Sims4), which, in my opinion, are very graphic intensive games. If you use the keyboard for your games (wasd), they are made to stand out among the other keys, which is nice. Wipes down nicely to dust and clean. Not disappointed in this product at all. Check out my short video so you can look at it in real time. ... show more

  • Awesome
CPU: R7 7840HS / RTX 4050 Capacity: 17.3 inch Style: R7 7840HS / RTX4050
I'm probably not the best person to ask about this. The laptop this replaced was $300 when I bought it in 2014. That's like going from eating sad ramen for years to suddenly being thrust into the world of high-end steakhouse fare. However, my experiences with this powerhouse of a gaming laptop demands a review. Holy crap, this thing is fast! The browser opens in like a second. Hell, my games open in less than five seconds. The graphics are gorgeous! I can push the graphics settings in second life up to ultra and it won't make the fans scream! Now, I will say, it's not the quietest laptop. I personally don't care about that, but I know some people might, that's why I mention that. I do record music from time to time, but I've always found a way around the fan noise. I don't know how good the battery life is, I keep it hooked up for the most part unless there's like a storm or something. I know another thing that I was looking at when shopping for a new laptop was heat. It does get a little warm, but it stays well within normal parameters. I've never seen it even get close to the upper limits of what the parts can handle, and I can run multiple CPU-intensive applications at the same time. Just be prepared, it's a heavy laptop. I don't care about its weight personally, as it literally sits on my computer desk all day, but if you're worried about that, just bear that in mind. Overall, I give this product 5 stars! I frankly feel spoiled rotten by its capabilities. I haven't even reached its full potential. Seriously, this is a solid gaming laptop. ... show more

Great product. Runs all the new games. Currently have Ready or Not installed with all DLC. Runs like a swiss watch at 165FPS and EPIC graphics settings.

  • Good but not perfect and it isn't all Acer's fault
CPU: R5 7640HS / RTX4050 Capacity: 16 inch WUXGA Style: 8GB / 512GB
The laptop is good, and I love the colors, although at the time of purchase it was rather odd that the better model was slightly cheaper than the base model. That said, it allowed me to get all the pretty colors, so I'm not going to complain. I will say this about the laptop, and that is that Windows 11... well, Windows 11. After purchase and setup, upgrading the RAM and SSD, it initially felt like a downgrade to my previous laptop. Same brand and model (Acer Nitro) but it was the 5 model not 16. You'd think the bigger number would mean that its performance, when directly compared, would be better. Or that the speed would be noticeably different, since my previous laptop had 16GB of RAM and this one (after upgrading it) has 32GB of RAM. But it just feels slower. The only difference between the two is the OS (Windows 10 to Windows 11) so I'll blame the OS and say that the laptop itself is pretty, functional, and I like it. Some of the function key choices are bizarre, however, like the option to lock it. Acer does know that Windows has a built-in shortcut for that (Windows key + L, for those wondering) and that the previous model having brightness and volume on the arrow keys made it so that you could have other more important keys up on the function/F row? Right? I mean, it is completely missing one of my most used key binds, which is the monitor/screen off-key. If I wasn't as tech-savvy as I am, I wouldn't have thought to use Power Toys to change the key bindings. Though that did allow me to take out the superfluous Nitro Sense key and turn it into Print Screen. Other keys were moved around as well, though the function keys are unfortunately hard coded, so there is no way (that I'm aware of) to use the FN key + something Else other than those pre-selected by Acer. But this is getting long, and I have other work to do. Thanks, Amazon, for reminding me to review and distracting me today. I know, it's partially my own fault, but still. ... show more

  • Not a laptop when it harms the lap
CPU: R7 8845HS / RTX4060 Capacity: 16 inch WUXGA Style: 16GB / 1TB
Do not use on lap! No device should be called a "laptop" when it causes third degree burns to the tops of legs. How awesome to spend the last month of summer, in Florida, in long, heavy skirts to cover the blotchy, blistered mess that are now my upper thighs. And I really, really wanted this laptop for its most excellent monitor which truly is a thing of beauty at 16" I was even willing to suffer the atrocious keyboard layout that literally increased my performance time by almost a third because the 'Home' and page keys are secondary hot-bunk keys because they just had to squeeze in a couple useless proprietary keys in prime locations for mis-keying. Given it is a large keyboard withe huge keys that are widely spaced (someone went ham on the leading gaps), there would have been plenty of room for the STANDARD keys and their goofy proprietary function keys whose functions were immediately disabled because they are useless for either gaming or business. So I tried to love this laptop even though it was slowing my work down because the one game I also played on it looked so good on that screen. But it has been a couple weeks of constant salves and every time I have to slowly peel fabric away from burned skin I remember how much I loathe this machine. ... show more
