Description

ACDelco Specialty Air Lift Shocks are designed to help provide better handling for temporary situations, such as when a vehicle hauls a heavy load or tows a trailer. They have an adjustable air pressure, between 25 and 200 psi, and up to 1,100 lbs (per pair) of load-carrying capacity. Under loaded conditions, these shocks help maintain level vehicle height by adding or releasing air as needed, assisting in the stabilization of alignment angles, reducing other suspension component wear, improving handling, and reducing the risk of bottoming out. ACDelco Specialty Air Lift Shocks are ideal for temporary load hauling, including towing boats and trailers. Not to exceed vehicle GVWR (Gross Vehicle Weight Rating). Product does not increase payload.

  • Great load upgrade
Easily installed and work great. I needed a little boost to the back of my truck for a trailer and airbags would bottom. These shocks worked great. Way better ride than I remember from my old “nova ss days” I sue maybe forty pounds to bring the loaded back end up to level from the 2 inches it drops.

  • Update after 25 days of heavy use, bushings were bolt goes through wore out.
Quality was good and fit perfect, the only thing I didn't like was the tiny ⅛ air hose. I ended up buying a reducer from¼ to ⅛ cut the tiny hose about 6 inches from the shock. Installed the reducer on each side. Ran both ¼ dot plastic hose to a 3 way tee so that I could run one hose to the front of my truck. Bought a ¼ check valve connected my set up to a small air compressor were I can control it inside my cab. I run right around 60 psi on a 05 crew cab. She drives so much better. Sorry about the way i described my set up just striaght to the point. And haven't had any leaks so far. ... show more

  • So far so good, tighten those fittings!
I have a solid plywood drawer system in my 8’ bed, and it’s loaded. And my typical shocks didn’t really provide any comfort or confidence. So I looked for an inexpensive solution. So far so good. But my first time for this kind of change-out was your, “that-looks-simple” project. Though someone with a modicum of mechanical skill and common sense could decipher the pictorial and cursory written instructions for the plumbing, there were NO installation tips for the shocks themselves. Did the whole change without a jack, so that was nice. After first inflation, the fill valve leaked. The local hardware sells the 1-way check valve core (same as a tire stem) and aside from the 30minute trip, the swap was done on under a minute. Pumped up to 60lbs. A slow leak over the next week dropped psi to 40. I got back up under the truck and tightened the fittings on the shocks. The double O ring and compression fitting are deceptive in the 1 inch deep threaded coupler. I simply didn’t have them fully threaded on. They will turn all the way to the shock body. The force required made a more than a little cautious since these Attlee made of plastic and I didn’t want to strip the threads. They do seem to “stop” when they hit bottom, but the closer they get the harder they turn. Tighten those buggers slowly and small moves. I settled at 55lbs (no particular reason other than it felt more sturdy yet had some travel.) A week hence and the pressure is holding. The ride is more pleasant and firm. The truck doesn’t dip and sway so much over RR tracks and around corners. We’ll see how they hold up thru the winter. ... show more

  • Lasted under 4 months. These are cheap junk labeled AC Delco.
These were ASE Certified Maser Tech installed. I noticed prior to install that they were cheaply labeled AC Delco with stickers and nothing about them looked like an OEM grade part. I was weary but disregarded this and listened to the many good reviews. They started off great with a very nice ride and providing great lift. But immediately there was an air leak which was confirmed to be one of the shocks and not the air lines. Since I have an fill on demand system in the truck, I didn't bother with a return. Then after less that 4 months, a clunking noise began. A quick look under the truck revealed that the shocks walked off all four bushings and were making contact with the mounts of the vehicle instead of being isolated by the rubber parts. Absolute waste of $109. Tossing in the trash since I am not wasting my time with a warranty replacement for the same junk. ... show more

  • Quality
I ordered Gabriel Highjackers a year ago, the first ones wouldn't hold pressure, returned them, (thank you Amazon),the second set lasted less than a year, dealer put it up on the hoist, one of the shocks pulled apart. Never again Gabriel. AC Delco now, so far so good. They do look suspicious like Gabriel, though, even the air line package had Gabriel on it. Fingers crossed, hoping for the best. FYI, the pics are Gabriel. ... show more
