  • HVAC Fan Install
Size: 12-Inch, Smart Controller
My furnace and AC unit are both about 25 years old and the blower isn't strong enough to reach upstairs. It’s probably as strong as blowing from your mouth. The downstairs gets pretty cold though. I wanted to redo all the ductwork in the attic and got an 8” fan but decided it was going to be WAY TOO much work so I went with the 12” instead, where I have easier access in the garage. This probably took about 3 hours to install with no previous knowledge of how to do ductwork. I cut the 12” metal duct with an oscillating tool with a metal blade and also tin snips. I’m not sure if they changed the inlet opening diameters based on other reviews but mine is about 11.75”, perfect to fit the previous 12” ductwork. I cut about 18” of the existing duct to fit the fan. I also bought a 12” flexible duct to connect the top end of the fan to the existing duct. I originally wanted to keep as much existing metal duct as possible and bought some 12” metal couplers but those didn't seem to work. The bottom part of the fan is resting inside the 12” duct and the top part is connected by about 6” of 12” flexible duct. Then, I just used foil tape at both ends of the fan, bottom was existing 12” metal duct to fan and top was fan to flexible duct to metal duct. I still need to add the clamps for extra security. Now my upstairs is blowing air out of the vents like you would expect a new unit to do. I’m currently on level 8/10 and it’s pretty solid, but nothing crazy. I blame the way they did all the wyes. If I actually redid all the attic ductwork I’m sure it would be better. Now if the fan is on level 1-2 downstairs still gets some air but anything higher and the fan is basically taking all that air and pushing it upstairs. We mostly hang out upstairs so getting air downstairs is less of an issue. Currently its 90 degrees outside, before installing the fan, downstairs would probably stay around 73 even with having the AC on for hours. It really wouldn't cool the house but just keep it at a constant temp but upstairs would be closer to 80 and would never cool down. After about running the fan with AC for 30 mins at level 8 today it’s gone from maybe 78 to 74. ... show more

  • Great product
Size: 12-Inch, Smart Controller
This is a great product. I was having some air flow issues in my great room. Not enough air moving through the system to keep the room cool in the summer, although the system was working properly. I had an AC company come out to check my system. They said the problem was the CFM of the blower fan not being high enough to move sufficient air. They wanted $15,000 to install a whole new system with a bigger fan. I bought and installed this unit for about $400. My great room is freezing now. Have to turn the thermostat down to keep it comfortable. Wish I had done this sooner. ... show more

  • Purchased for my glassblowing / lampworking setup
Size: 12-Inch, Speed Controller
I purchased the 8spd setting basic model Cloudline 12in (not humidity controlled) . Its a powerful beast.. Of course AC infinity's inline duct fans are as quiet as you can get for what they are. I needed a high static and cfm fan for my hood at my glasstorch table.. It runs nearly 24/7 for months now at setting 3-4.. then setting 7 when working this way i maintain air current in building 1 direction further increasing safety of glass dust ect. . Will be disassembling for a routine clean soon but honestly this thing has worked great for me. passed every smoke test and has maintained good pressure for quite awhile in a workshop environment. Meeting and exceeding my needs so far. . Ive used ac infinity for many projects requiring airflow.. Hope their quality never changes cause so far they have a fanboy in me.. pun intended.. :D ... show more

  • 1600 cfm of goodness
Size: 12-Inch, Speed Controller
Read: if you have a 12” supply line running it the upstairs of your home and the air conditioner just isn’t pushing the air to the registers, get this!!! Installed one in a 2700 sq ft two story home with the furnace in the basement, there is now measurable air reaching the entire top floor. And the best part is you cannot hear it from outside the utility/mechanical room, even when running at full power. ... show more

  • Moves Fireplace Heat all over House
Size: 12-Inch, Smart Controller
I have a wood burning stove in the front room of my house. Even at 20 below I can get that room toasty, but I need a solution to move that heat around the house. I was able to create an intake at the top of my 18' high ceiling, run some duct and then tap into the existing hvac duct in the crawl space. I am now able to take that heat and move it to the rear of the house. It's too warm. I do not hear the fan in the crawl space even at the highest speed. The packing was amazing and came with all little things to make installation an ease. This company has their act together. I have the 12" with the smart controller. Controller is amazing. ... show more

  • Works Perfect!
Size: 12-Inch, Smart Controller
I have a 2-story, 1978 home with a single HVAC system. The thermostat is on the lower level and upstairs is either always entirely too hot or cold. Rather than spending thousands for an additional HVAC unit or zoning, I installed this on the main 12” duct for the upstairs inside of a wall. I put the temp probe inside of the duct, and set the unit to auto run when reaching certain temperature thresholds. Solved our issue perfectly! Highly recommend! ... show more
