This will get rid of light swirls and scratches like finger nail scratches around door handles. It won't get deeper pits though. Very easy to apply with a damp cotton cloth and then a dry one. You might want to use gloves because it can dye your hands temporarily. Don't know how durable it is. It washed out of the cotton cloth pretty easily. It'll make your black car look much better. It stains my hands and rubbed right off the scratches I was intending to hide but my hands seemed like the best solution for thus product not my car.
