  • Low price-high quality puller set
This is a very useful set of three jaw pullers. Each puller has two jaw positions to allow the puller screw to be positioned as close as possible to the center shaft that it pulls against. The jaws may be set to grasp on the outside of a rim or between spokes against the inside of the rim. The price is very low for this set of pullers. A user should know that the short bolts that hold the jaws need to be tightened only finger tight and a couple of washers, a short piece of pipe or a properly sized socket should be placed on the shaft against which the puller screw is to be placed and tightened. Once pressure is exerted, a light hammer blow on the head of the screw should be dealt to start the pulled hub, gear, pulley, etc. on its journey off the shaft. ... show more

  • This is a great set of gear pullers for the money!
I bought this set to remove a jaw coupler frozen to the drive shaft of an engine for a log splitter. After 10 years of use and some rust build up on the drive shaft the coupler would not budge a mm even after heating the piece and striking it from the backside with a hammer. I bought the set not knowing what size was going to be the correct size (turned out to be the 4") to do the job. It pulled the stuck part with little effort and no damage to either the tool or the drive shaft. This is a heavy duty, inexpensive tool which should satisfy the needs of most DIY'ers. I recommend the purchase of these gear pullers. ... show more

  • Great product, but locknuts would have been nice
I bought this puller set to remove some bearings from an electric motor. The pullers seem well built, the jaws and hubs are beefy, the screws are very fine pitch, and having all three sizes is handy (I ended up having to use the small jaws on the medium puller to fit underneath one of my bearings). My one complaint is that the jaws are secured using bolts and standard nuts instead of locknuts, so they don’t be surprised if the nuts loosen up and fall off before you’re able to get some pressure on the mechanism. Overall I’d recommend this set, giving it 4/5 stars because of the nuts. ... show more

  • Got me through rough times
The fact that you get 3 different sized pullers is awesome. These seem like they are built well, got me through my job, and now have a home in my tool box.

  • Great Puller set for the price! Works like a charm!
Great set for the price! I used the middle size to change the front hub assembly’s on my 08 Altima last weekend. Worked great!!! Update: a week later I’m changing cv shafts on both sides & this Puller set worked like a champ again. The tools are well made of hefty material. I have used the outside griping part (grapple I believe) and it’s stout! I have not just used the outward facing top hooks yet. As I have not needed that function yet. All in all I say it’s a great buy & a must-have for anyone who works on your own vehicle. ... show more

  • Cheap
I get it, they are cheap so they are going to be built cheap. But even so I think they should be designed a bit better. All of the times I have went to use these I have ended up grabbing a posi lock or higher end puller instead. The spacing between the threaded plate, and the puller arms is not the same. This makes the puller arms very loose between the two metal brackets that hold it to the body and allows the arms slide oblong on the bearing or gear instead of staying spread evenly, then the puller will just fall off. I was able to fix this issue by installing washers between the puller arms and the pivot brackets to take up some slop. Another issue is that the hardware is very low grade, lock nuts should have been used. The first time I went to use one all 3 pullers had completely fallen apart just from bouncing around in my service truck tool box. Bottom line is I don’t think these are a very good value. It would be a different story if the thickness of the puller arms mounting holes was the same as the puller plate so there was no slop between the arms, and better hardware with lock nuts. ... show more
