  • SO close to perfect.
I haul lawn equipment around every day, and have had several versions of these types of kits. One from Cabela's, one from Trailer Racks, a replacement ratchet end from Harbor Freight. Here's what I like about this kit- the hardware is nice, like the Cabela's kit. The strap is similar to the Cabela's and Trailer Racks strap. This one has a rubber handle cover which is nice. The Harbor Freight strap was ok, but the strap was too long- the handle was almost under the fender of my zero-turn. You'll notice how short the strap is on the handle end of this kit- that's good, it keeps and handle accessible when popping it loose. Everything is great- but it's missing one thing- the rubber "cleats" on the straps, that keep the strap from sliding. Not a huge deal, but it would be nice to have them, but I will order some to put on these. They are linked below. Also attached is a picture of an accident I was involved in while using this style of strap. Car pulled across traffic and forced me into a culvert/ditch. The truck frame was bent from the weight of the trailer pushing into it when I hit the other bank, but the mower never moved- and at the time I only had a hold-down on only one side- you can see it on the driver's side rear tire of the mower... They work, and I will always have my mower strapped down with one of these types of kits. • Unique Tie-Down Strap System
I like the way the strap is stitched into the ratchet mechanism so it won't pull out when not in use. I like the unique attachment into the brackets wherein the keeper or key slides sideways, allowing the strap end to be inserted. It is a slick way to attach the straps to the base brackets. I am using the ANTELOPE Wheel Stop Tie-Down Kit to secure a 55 gallon oil drum upright in a trailer. Where the straps cross on the top lid, I affixed two steel plates, 1.5 inch x 3 inch, to clamp the straps together to prevent slippage. The ratchet release works very easily, and combined with the strap bracket system I am able to remove the straps as needed. Drilling the holes for the plates was fairly easy, and with the bolts and nylon insert lock nuts attaching the plates to the steel trailer floor makes things very secure. In addition I placed a rubber mat under the oil drum to prevent rattling and vibration on the road. I had to splice 2 foot long extensions into the straps to reach across the drum. I intend to use a another 55 gallon drum filled with water for road testing before hauling a full oil drum. ... show more

  • Strap
I just purchased a used utility trailer and I had no way to tie down my ATV. This is a perfect solution and worked out great. my vehicle is very secure and safe while towing long distance. The straps kept tight for many miles. Securing the ATV down to the trailer is very easy with this simple design. ... show more

  • Heavy Duty
This is very high quality. You can feel the weight of the package. The tie-downs are very good and lock into the stops. The rachet isn't going to slip. The stops are very sturdy. You can also use these as stops in your garage if your spouse doesn't know when to stop and keeps driving until she bumps into your tools. I'm not going to say she does it, but I'm not going to say she doesn't do it...lol. The box says it comes with a bag. It does not. The description on here never mentions a bag so I won't knock them for that. The box it comes in is sturdy enough to use it to store them. Great product. ... show more

  • If you trailer a utv this is the quickest, easiest, and most secure way to tie it down
If you have a utv and trailer it these are the best thing to tie it down. you locate the chocks where you want your front wheels to be on the trailer and bolt these down to the trailer bed. to secure your utv you just drive the tires up into the chocks, put teh strap around the tire, secure the strap to the slots in the chocks and cinch down the straps. No more looking for where to secure the straps and them coming loose or sliding around. You use the suspension on the utv to keep from breaking anything going down the road. easy as can be. Securing the utv using these takes about 5 minutes total, quick, easy, and secure. The straps and hardware are heavy duty and the straps fit my 30" tires without any issues. Holds my 4 Door utv without any problems. ... show more

  • Useful permanent tie down/wheel chock
I trailer my compact tractor frequently, many of the unimproved roadways I end up on bounce the wheel chocks out of place, putting more stress on the tie downs. Bolting these to the trailer deck with the included hardware is very straightforward. The tie down goes over the wheel and secures easily in the built in slot. So far no issues with movement while traveling. With a tractor I have no issues with being able to drive over the top of the chock block to get out, not sure how a smaller lightweight vehicle would do, I could see getting enough momentum/traction to back over the chock being a challenge. But for my purposes it works great, so 5 stars. ... show more

  • Poor finish on floor plates and short straps
My original intention was to install this on my utility trailer and use it to help secure my UTV while trailering. The description says it's good for 10 to 23 in wheels when it should say 10 to 23 inch tires. The straps are too short f,or anything much bigger than a riding lawnmower. The floor plates came out of the box with rust bubbles in the paint but installed easily. The 6 ft straps fit in the E-tracks perfectly and the ratchets worked and released as they should. I will have to buy longer straps if I use them as I intended, but my suggestion is find a better quality set with longer straps. ... show more

  • Great addition to my trailer
I have been looking for tire tie-down straps for awhile. They have just been too expensive or not quite what I was expecting. This set is at an acceptable price point for me. The quality of the materials seems good. Ease of use is easy... In my opinion, an important piece not include nor mentioned in the instructions is to use a backing plate. Relying solely on wood screws to fasten the attachment plates to a wood trailer floor is irresponsible. If mounting to a metal trailer floor you should probably use at least grade 5 bolts (not supplied). Otherwise I have no problems with this tie down set. ... show more
