EDIT: 9 MONTHS LATER 9 months later, I wanted to update my initial review to report that I’m still in love with these plants! My first one was so amazing that I ordered a second shortly thereafter and both plants have grown to almost double their size when I first bought them…they’re now about 4 ft tall and 4 ft in diameter. They’re amazing and gorgeous…I’ve even been able to take cuttings to propagate them and give as gifts. Not only that, but they’ve been easy plants for me. Make sure you rotate them periodically to help keep them in a symmetrical shape. My first one arrived with a couple torn leaves but aside for not looking perfect, it’s been fine: those leaves are still on the plant and the plant is super happy. Both plants have huge, perfectly split leaves. I really could not be happier…they’re at the top of my favorite houseplants list. ORIGINAL REVIEW Amazing! My plant arrived with a couple of the leaves torn but it seems to be in good shape otherwise: there are plenty of leaves and a few of them are even large and have their characteristic splits, so I'm not too concerned about the couple that are torn. My plant is about 2 ft tall, more or less (less if you only count the green, more if you count the pot) and she's gorgeous. I'm letting her rest for a day or so to help settle down after the trauma of shipping, then I'll repot her and wipe the soil off her leaves from shipping: the soil seems like it's at a good moisture level that I'm not too concerned about root rot, as a few other reviewers have experienced, but I will absolutely update this review if I experience anything negative. Upon opening the box, the plant seemed pretty smooshed together: after having been out of the box for a few hours, her stems and leaves are starting to expand/spread out some. I'm just thrilled that I *finally* have one of these beauties in my home and if everything continues to go well, I will be purchasing another. ... show more

I ordered two of these at different times. The first was shipped from Hirts Gardens (believe in FL); it was well packaged and arrived as a beautiful tall plant but with only 4 leaves and 5 stems (smaller than shown and much smaller than all the pictures that were uploaded by customers). Happy with the plant, I went to my order history and clicked on "buy again" --- in hopes that the next plant would be as big as customers reviews. The second one just arrived and was shipped from JM Bamboo (CA); it was HUGE, with a lot of foliage, gorgeous and beyond my expectations. I will have to repot it into a 10 inch pot as opposed to a 6 inch like it's predecessor. I am very happy with both plants as they are beautiful in their own ways and fit perfectly in their new surroundings. Highly recommend this seller/s! UPDATE (about 4 months later): Both monsteras that I bought from this seller/s (Hirch and JM Bamboo - from this same link) are thriving and multiplying. The Hirch is steadily growing and looking beautiful (grew 2 new leaves and are splitting into the swiss look already by sun exposure) and the second that was potted into the 10" pot has grown out of control (seen in dark picture after repotted into 12 inch pot and had been trimmed by several cuttings - about 5 cuttings of 2-3 leaves each). I successfully cut 3 sets of 2 to 3 leaves cut under the node to encourage root growth by adding them in glass jars full of distilled water before repotting and 2 sets of 2 leaves cut before the node (because plant had fallen - hence immediate work on repotting and cutting smaller versions of the monstera). In all, I have 5 new baby versions which are a big as the original monstera I bought from the hirch nursery and even larger and beautiful leaves. So this turned out to be an excellent investment - that quadrupled in 3 months time. My best purchase in Amazon so far! ... show more
