    • Looks great! Feels nice and thick but, a little pricier than most are used to paying, for this size.
I ordered this HD tarp, for covering our cargo in the bed of our truck, for our next home move. We have a large truck-bed cargo net that will then hold that trap along with all our cargo safe and secure. Grommets look great and they state that do not rust. We shall see! I really like all the re-enforcing that this tarp has. A long road trip certainly sorts the men form the boys as far as tarps go. It is going to be interesting to see how this holds up. I have had a few tarps go bad. The sun gets to them and they start breaking down. Taprs have a tough life, so you get what you pay for. This one promises that it will not breakdown in the sun. Again, we shall see! I am not really sure what else you can write about a tarp, until it is fully tested? I may get back and complete and update if I find anything detrimental regarding this tarp.     • Typical “Blue” Tarp – 16 Mil?
This is a nicely finished typical blue “poly” tarp with doubled over edges, many reinforced grommets around the edge that are described as “rustproof” (a good thing), and plastic double reinforcements at the corners. Since most of the “Heavy Duty” labeled tarps at the big box stores are labeled as around 10 Mil (.010” or .254mm) thick, I was intrigued by this one, as it is labeled to be more than half again as thick at 16 Mil (.016” or .406mm). When it arrived, it felt similar to most of the other tarps I have, and not substantially thicker, so I measured it in numerous places around the edges and near the middle. As I suspected by the weight and feel, this tarp measures between 10 Mil and 11 Mil everywhere I checked, not 16 Mil as labeled. I am very surprised, since the thickness is emphasized to be 16 Mil in numerous places on the description page and on the label packaged with the tarp. I’m thinking I might have inadvertently received one that was mis-labeled, as I cannot imagine the manufacturer being this far off. Or maybe, some different standard or measuring procedure applies to these poly tarps that I do not know about, but I measured it carefully with a calibrated micrometer and again with an electronic caliper and found it to be nearer to 10 Mil than to 16 Mil. In any case, it IS smooth, with dense, evenly woven fibers of poly cloth embedded in the plastic coating and has nice grommets, edges, and heat-sealed doubled-over edges, but the one I received was not as thick and heavy as described. ... show more

This isn't the most heaviest tarp out there, its on the lightweight side. I'm just gonna use it to keep rain off my firewood, and it should do a great job at that. It has a few grommets, I'd like more, but I even want that on high end tarps. I'll end up adding my own. I could see if the wind got this and kept rubbing it against something it would rub through pretty quick, but since I'll have it tied down tight, I figure it should last about a year before the sun degrades it. ... show more

I bought an 8' x 10' Heavy Duty Tarp Waterproof Large Poly Tarp Cover-16 Mil Multipurpose UV Resistant Tear & Fade Resistant. However, it started leaking after a few hours of light rain, and the UV resistance was non-existent. The tarp was also easily torn, had poorly placed and reinforced grommets, and was smaller than advertised. Don't waste your money on this tarp, it's poorly constructed and not worth the hype. ... show more

This is a really well made tarp. It is thick and the grommets seem like they will not tear out and that the tarp overall will be very durable. But I just received it and it will be tough to comment on durability at this point. I will update this review if it does not stand up to what I would consider normal use. ... show more

This is a nice thick sturdy tarp. The grommets seem good. The color is your fairly standard blue-tarp color. It's a little too early to comment on durability, but if it fails over time, I'll update this review.

This tarp is no joke. It's not your standard "leaf collecting" tarp. Those you typically see the material weave and end up getting holes in them frequently and too soon. Since this tarp is so thick, it isn't very forgiving when unfolding it out of the package. We plan on using this for putting it under our tent when camping. The grommets are kind of flimsy aluminum, but those in the corners have rigid plastic reinforcements, which is a nice touch. Pros: Thick and rugged Cons: Weak grommets (maybe?) ... show more
