  • Great results
Was concerned that this "cheaper" incubator would not have good results. I have loved this incubator. We have hatched quail eggs and chicken eggs. General results are usually a 50% success rate for first timers. Quail did a little better than 50 %. The chicken eggs 6 of 8 hatched. So that's a 75% hatch rate. Only down side would be 1. No humidity display, 2. Dome is a little low, great for the quail but a little cramped for chickens. 3. Only 8 chicken eggs per hatch. The 3 items I listed as down side are not major issues and can be ignored due to the price in my opinion. ... show more

  • Nice small incubator
This has worked well for hatching my quail eggs. I have had good success rates. I haven't tried larger eggs in it. But l have found out to use the chicken egg turner because my smaller disk wasn't turning the inside smaller eggs on it. The company actually sent me another one to solve the issue thinking it was the machine l switched disks and checked the new one it had same issue. Otherwise a nice easy to use. ... show more

Size: 8-33 Eggs Color: White
This machine is difficult to use. I lost both batches of eggs I spent a lot of money on combined. The temp control is so difficult to use and both batches were boiled alive. It was so upsetting, I had it somewhat working and then, catastrophe both times. Once you think you have it set, you cannot touch the display in any way or else it changes and finding your way back, even with the manual, is impossible. I lost a batch on day 12 and they were showing movement and life. Very disappointed and upset to say the least. The humidity is also extremely difficult to control, with quail eggs they need 40% for the first two weeks and I had to manipulate the water source to be elevated while sticking a foam insert between the top and bottom of the incubator to regulate how humid it got. I installed a humidity gauge to attempt to monitor it but the product itself provides no tool for doing so. The insert tray for quails eggs also only works if all the eggs are tiny and will not work for larger sized eggs. So then you need to monitor the ones that are not turning and manually turn them, ultimately making the automatic turning apparatus pointless. I was already wary of this thing reading the reviews about the exposed water tributary causing chick drowning and the ceiling of the incubator causing hanging deaths. I think this product should be avoided. ... show more

  • OUR MISTAKE, IT WAS NOT WHAT WE WANTED, WE GOT CARRIED OUT BY THE FIRST PHOTO
We made the mistake of buying this incubator very lightly, to replace our spell incubator, made with a resistive bulb, and on/off temperature control (configurable in °F or °C, this incubator is only in °F, in Colombia we use °C, it's time to be making conversions. Our homemade incubator does not rotate the eggs, but we have experience, we raised 30 ducks before the pandemic, which we had at home until we gave them away to farms with lakes. We are now supporting INDIGENOUS PEOPLE FROM SILVIA CAUCA, COLOMBIA, incubating 30 chicken eggs, but for not reading carefully, we bought lightly. It doesn't work for us, it doesn't fit 8 eggs, what a mistake. We know that returning it to the United States, from Cali Colombia, costs more than the incubator itself, and we cannot afford it financially, so I think we will lose our money. Excuse me for the English, help me with a translator, I hope it is understood. ... show more

  • Works how it should, but there's a twist.
The media could not be loaded. Everything is great, the temp stays, the tray rolls, the humidity stays up and you don't have to do anything with extra water because of the bottles it's very self efficient. The ONLY issue that has arose is when the babies actually hatch and start to crawl around. The fan, has a plastic cover but it is not enough to keep the chicks from pecking and we have had babies being sucked up into the fan, clipped a wing, cut a toe off, ect. Ect. None have died from the fan, but it does cause injury if you do not remove the chicks once their dry. We have removed chicks while others are hatching, by spraying water mist onto the others still hatching and closing lid fast and tight. I have waited for a 3rd hatch to see how numbers have added up. Each hatch we have had a median of 6/8 hatch rate. I would recommend this product if you are on a budget and first starting out, but be warned of the fan. If there is a way to fasten a guard and still let the fan do its job, that would be great. We tried and failed. So let's see what we can do! Thanks. ... show more

  • Great incubator
Purchased the smaller incubator that holds 8 chicken size eggs. I have never incubated chickens before when I purchased it. I have successfully hatched from this incubator 2 different times. 7 chicks the first time and 4 chicks the 2nd. The chicks that hatched had no issues hatching . Humity seemed to be spot on. Instructions are basic but simple. The unit comes ready to preset with heat temp and automatic egg turner. I did some research before hand on how to incubate eggs. There is not a humidity gauge on this unit, but my hatch's did not have any issues with the egg shell sticking to the chick. I followed instructions that came with the incubator. One Con to this unit is the turner mechanism cannot be turned off and it still spins after the turner plate has been taken out. I worried about the chicks feet getting caught in the mechanism . When the incubator was more crowded with all 8 eggs it seemed to be more risky for a foot to get caught but when I hatched the 4 eggs they seemed less risky. No chick actually got their foot caught though. It turns very slowly so I'm assuming they had plenty of time to move . Great incubator, great hatch's, healthy chicks both times. ... show more
