This set of paint markers are good. Some of them require some extra effort (shaking) to get the paint running. Also, if you shake them too vigorously, they will drip some ink. As comparison with these, I have some German made "Staedt*" metal liquid markers which are much more consistent and dependable, of course at much more steeper price. I used one of the "gold" pens for a furniture touch-up and it came relatively well, as one can see in the before and after images. ... show more

    • Definitely Metallic Pens
I love a good metallic pen that can give off a shiny finish. This is more of a metallic finish vs a reflective chrome. The best way to use it is on non-porous surfaces such as glass. Just shake a pen, pump down on the tip until ink comes out, and write what you need. If you need to cover a large surface area, just paint in one direction throughout. The media could not be loaded. Stuff I like about these markers: - great chrome shine: matte and dark when looked at an angle, but really bright when viewed head on - easy to use, the ink comes out easily from the fine tip pens - looks great on black paper Stuff to watch out for: - pretty intense chemical smell (like permanent pens) - I would have liked some more silver pens, as there are a lot of shades of gold in this pack - it's hard to remove the plastic packaging around each pen Overall it's a nice art tool for my mixed media work. I got these markers for a project with my son. He is getting into painting models and decorating with designs of his own. I got these pens so he could decorate and color some of his toys to begin with. I hoped that it would give him a chance to try developing color schemes and designs of his own. I was also hoping that the pens would be less of a mess than potted paints. The pens work great. They are easy to hold and comfortable to use. They are oil based, so you will need to keep that in mind while you use them. The markers have a smooth and even flow, which is really helpful when applying them to a surface. I use these on resin and they work fine. They flow as freely as any other acrylic paint maker, maybe better in some cases. I like the many different shades of gold. I got a set previously, different vendor, that was bright gold, copper, and silver, and that didn't cover all my needs. Gold has so many shades to be aware of and trying to match is difficult with only 1 shade in my tool box. These dry slowly, so set them somewhere they can dry overnight in a well-ventilated area. They really don't have any fumes, but a good airflow helps them dry faster. They dry smooth, provided the surface you used them on is smooth, and really are very metallic. So shiny. One of my hobbies is drawing. I like to draw little pictures and simple cartoons. My kids love them and think they are cute. I got these pens to try drawing on different surfaces and objects. My first attempt was to draw a stick family representation of our family on a coffee mug. It was a simple drawing, but these markers made it really pop and the figures really jumped off the page. This is a set of very cool and interesting metal pigmented painting pens. First you need to give them a good shaking to make sure all of the pigment is mixed together. There are 7 pens total 5 different variations of gold , 1 Silver and a remover pen. You can see in my photos I changed the color on a chrome colord screwdriver as a test.
