I feel like I got robbed. It does not perform as advertised. The wifi signal is too weak to access the 24h surveillance from your phone. For the price this dashcam sucks!!

This camera could have easily got a 5 stars review from me but I encountered a few little issues with it. First let me say that the video and photo quality is amazing. I installed it in my car using the hard wiring kit which works really fine. One thing that I do not like about this camera is that the voice activated feature is not voice specific, therefore it will be triggered by anything or anybody. I was listening to a song that mentioned left, next thing I know the camera was shooting to the left. Sometimes someone says something that sounds like shoot right the camera will shoot right even if it wasn’t specifically addressed to the camera. Another thing is the parking mode once you got really closed to the camera instead of staying on the subject it will move around, I think it’s a flaw because if I get pulled over by the police for example I would like for the camera to stay on the driver side window this way I have a good footage. I hope that my review will be useful this way the manufacturers can make the necessary corrections upon releasing the next model. In all honesty I think it’s a great product and it does a good job. Easy to use and easy to install. I check my videos everyday, the timeline features is amazing. I would and I did recommend this dashcam to a few of my friends and family. ... show more

The 70Mail Dash cam is quality product and also easy to install the dash cam but the 70 mail hard wire kit it was not easy to install for parking service . Nice product!

    • Not Really Ready To Go
Word of advice: be prepared to NOT use this right out of the box. First the problems: The manual says that the battery is fully charged and holds its own charge, so I installed it before charging the camera and now it won’t stay on unless the car is running. The manual should have said to charge the camera BEFORE installing. Instead it said to set up the camera while in the car. I hope I drive long enough to charge it now that it’s stuck to my windshield! Also, the main purpose I wanted this camera for was to record motion around my car while it was parked. The info in Amazon does not state that for parking monitoring you have to purchase an additional adapter that connects to your battery. I also had problems seeing what was going on around my car even when it was on because the camera view only works in the camera app on my phone if the camera is connected to its own Wi-Fi hotspot. But the Wi-Fi continually defaults to my car or my phone hotspot even when manually connecting to the camera’s Wi-Fi hotspot. I wonder how I can use the camera’s app to view around my car if I am not near the car since this Wi-Fi issue prevents the use of the app. Does this mean that I would have to review parking footage everyday in order to know what happens around my car while it’s parked? If the camera is not connected to its own wi-fi you can’t see what is going on around your car on the phone app. That’s kind of a bummer. I was hoping that I might get alerts on my phone app if motion was detected (like the door cameras for your house). The good things: the camera really does turn enough to get a 360 degree view and the night vision is pretty clear. It has a sound option but I’m not sure if it is just recording sound or if I can talk through the app to the camera to tell vandalizers or thieves to get away.     • NOT HAPPY!!!
I was excited at the unboxing and immediately scheduled an appointment with professional installers to install the device using the hardwire kit I purchased along with the device. After installation I found out (only after getting the device home), that the engine-off security did not work. I was told by the device that the device was not recognizing the cable. Went back to Bestbuy to discuss the issue and was told that the fuses register the correct amount of current and the problem must be the hardwire install kit has a faulty cable. Solution, purchase another install kit and try again. Purchased a new kit and this time the sentry function (used when the car is off) worked, BUT the device will not stay connected to its app. When away from the car (in my apartment with car in the parking lot) it tells me I need to connect to the devices "hotspot", but the only way to do this manually (as it request) is to have the phone in the car next to the device. This happens EVERY TIME the car is turned on and turned back on. It doesn't seem to be recording incidents of intruders near the front of the device as it should while the engine is off. Finally, it doesn't respond correctly to voice commands. If I say: "Shoot Left" it shoots right. When I say: "Shoot Vlog" it shoots left. Giving my experience 2 Stars is being generous, but since I never look at 1 Star reviews unless the average reviews are tilted towards a mediocre 3 Star review, I didn't want this review to be overlooked. I think it's just that important. At no time did their technical support contact me with a live person. In one instance that recommended I watch their installation video (YouTube), which was not professionally done, and the majority of the comments on the video said how bad and utterly inept the video was. I'll be more than happy to update my review if the situation improves. Here's crossing my fingers, as I was sold on the product by better YouTube videos that showed a great working sentry system; accurate and responsive voice commands and easy installation.
