  • Great dehumidifier
Size: 5,300 Sq.Ft Color: White
I picked up this dehumidifier for a basement that tends to have much more humid air than upstairs. It is pretty easy to get set up right out of the box, and I had it up and running in no time. It works really well, getting the humidity down to comfortable levels where I do not have to worry about mold in the basement. The dehumidifier is relatively quiet, especially compared to other dehumidifiers I have used, which was a welcome surprise. It's also energy efficient, which is great news for my electric bill. All in all, this was a great purchase and I could not be happier with it. ... show more

  • Great new machine
Size: 4,500 Sq.Ft Color: White
It really sucks out the water reducing humidity quickly in my basement. Uses only half the electricity compared to older unit. The drain hose works great so no need to empty bucket. It is so quiet even on high and no annoying rattles. It’s tiny. It looks like a tower computer. I love it. Hope it lasts. ... show more

  • Works Well In a Damp Basement
Size: 3,200 Sq.Ft Color: White
The unit was able to lower the humidity in my mother-in-law's damp basement from 78% to under 70% in one day. The humidity level continues to drop. The unit is quiet and was very easy to set up.

  • Quiet and portable, great customer service
Size: 4,500 Sq.Ft Color: White
Updated review I've had the unit for almost a month now. It runs great but the tube wasn't allowing the tank to drain properly. The angle has to be a perfect downward slope otherwise water either sits in the tube or doesn't drain and fills the small tub. After quite a bit of maneuvering I was able to figure out an angle that caused it to drain into my sump pit. The company reached out to me about my 3 star review and offered a refund because I wasn't completely satisfied. If they are as attentive with their warranty as they are concerned about their reputation, then buying this product is a no brainer. *********** Original review TLDR; Quiet Small Easy to operate Lighter than many other 50 pint dehumidifiers Warranty easy to submit/extend for 2nd year (no idea if they'll honor it) Small water reservoir No clamp for plastic tube, could slip off Our basement is HUMID! Living near DC/Baltimore, a former swamp, the humidity can be off the charts. I previously had 2 homelab dehumidifiers working around the clock keeping the humidity in check. That worked great for a few years until 1 decided to no longer drain. During the winter that meant emptying the bucket once per day. Up to 3 times in the summer, which was unacceptable. I was looking for something to replace the malfunctioning dehumidifier in my utility closet. It would have to contend with a sump pump, water heater, and general dampness from concrete block. As others have mentioned, it clearly says to stand it upright for 24 hours before plugging it in. Likely to allow the freon to go where it needs to. Setting it up was super simple. It didn't weigh all that much, maybe just over 20 pounds. I had to carry it down a flight of steps, and it was nowhere near as heavy as my old ones. I read the instructions, but that wasn't really necessary. Plug it in, set up the desired humidity level, and you're basically up and running. There are two parts to it I'm not particularly fond if. First off, the hose and port. The hose is your run of the mill plastic tube, nothing special. It slips over the port of the dehumidifier, which is a little bit tricky to access. I ended up removing the water reservoir and pushing it from the side and underneath. It felt pretty secure, but could have benefited from some sort of clamp. While I doubt it will slip off, I would be more confident with something that locks it in place, even if that was as simple as barbs on the port. My other issue is the small size of the water reservoir and difficulty removing it. Trying to take it out the first time was EXTREMELY difficult. It wouldn't slide out and needed to be forced. It does seem to be a little easier the second time, but still not as easy as I think it should be. Secondly, the size of the tank is SMALL. Maybe 1/3 the size of my old 50 pint dehumidifiers. If I weren't draining this into my sump pit, it would need A LOT of emptying. So keep that in mind when purchasing. ... show more

  • Great Dehumidifier, Excellent Customer Service
Size: 4,500 Sq.Ft Color: White
Purchased in July 2022 I've had this Vellgoo dehumidifier running virtually non-stop in my unfinished basement for nearly two years. For the first few days, I would check in every so often and the tank would always need to be emptied. I didn't measure, but I'm guessing it's easily multiple gallons a day. There is a sump pump in my basement, so i attached the drain hose to the dehumidifier and dropped the other end into the sump. The Vellgoo dehumidifier works great and keeps my basement dry year-round! July 2024 About a week ago, I noticed the unit was not running and it was very humid in the basement. There was an error code on the screen. I unplugged it and plugged it back in and it started working again, but only for a little while. I emailed Vellgoo support on a Sunday evening asking for help. I assumed it was out of warranty, but hopped there was an easy fix that I could do myself. Early Monday morning, I received an email response explaining the error code and asked for more information. After a few emails, Vellgoo offered to replace the unit at no cost! The new dehumidifier arrived within a few days and was an exact replacement. I am still surprised at how fast Vellgoo responded and their willingness to replace the unit! It is refreshing to know that there are still companies that stand behind their products and offer stellar support. Thank you! ... show more

  • Super Quiet, Easy to Empty, Doesn't Freeze Up!
Size: 4,500 Sq.Ft Color: White
After many other dehumidifiers have failed our test, this one has finally passed, and we love it!! I will probably never buy another brand, because this has won me over after so many others disappointed me by freezing up or not working well. Here is why I love it: * Never Freezes Up - We have cats, so we seem to have a constant issue with dehumidifiers freezing up when a little bit of cat hair is in the air. This one just powers through, which means that the filter on it actually works, and it has yet to freeze up after constant operation for weeks. * SO Quiet - As aforementioned, sometimes I actually forget to empty the drip pan, because it is by far the quietest dehumidifier I've ever had, and I don't always notice when it shuts off because of a full drip pan. A great problem to have, though! * Slim Profile - this is a lot smaller than other dehumidifiers that I've tried, so it fits better in the space that we have for it. I didn't buy it for that reason, but it was an unexpected benefit, and I like that about it. * Super Fast and Efficient - The drip pan is usually full after less than a day, so I know it's working. * Accurate Readings - I've got a separate humidity monitor that I keep in the same room with the dehumidifier, and according to that independent source, the readings of the humidity levels on the dehumidifier are accurate. I love this so much, and I'll order this brand again someday when this one kicks the bucket. I highly recommend it!! ... show more
