    • Inconsistent product info, but works great nonetheless
I really haven't had a chance to put this through its paces, but I wanted to provide a quick review for now for anyone considering this as a Christmas gift. While this is the first hoverboard I've gotten for my boys, it's not the first one they've ridden so that really helped a lot when first testing this out. Apart from being slightly smaller, this one works exactly like those. Lean forward to move forward, lean back to go in reverse, press down on right to turn clockwise and left to turn the other way. Balancing is only tricky at first, but really just take a minute to get the hang of. The red and white guide lights that come on automatically are a nice touch and will certainty come in handy if you ever find yourself cruising after dark. When testing indoors, this thing moved faster than I was expecting and made me happy knowing that this has some pep. It also feels well made with durable outer plastic and nice feeling wheels. My only issue with this is some of the inconsistencies in the product description. For example, one picture says top speed is 8.5 mph while another puts it at 7.5 mph. Couldn't tell which it was based on my quick testing, though it felt fast enough. Same with range with it stating 7.5 miles of range in one place and 8.5 miles of range elsewhere. Also, like another review said, the weigh rating on the product description states 220 pounds. However, the brochure it came with states 132 pounds (for the model I ordered anyway). This could be a typo as all of the models seem to have the same dual 250w motor. Also, I weigh 144 and was able to ride it just fine without getting any over-the-weight-limit warning beep. Besides, this is for my two sons to ride--both of whom weigh less than 70 pounds. I haven't tested how long it lasts, but we really can't wait to try this outside (it's been raining the past few days where we live). Based on my quick assessment, I would recommend this for sure. I was intrigued by this hoverboard when it appeared in my feed. I’d never tried to ride one before so I decided to throw caution to the wind and get this. Well, it arrived and it is a very nice hoverboard. Backing up this review just a bit, I must say that the ad for this hoverboard is terrible!! The title states its for kids and adults. The description says its for kids. Then somewhere it says the hoverboard can work for anyone up to 220 lbs. Somewhere it says it’s for up to 132 lbs, iirc…the weight it can handle is so inconsistent. After I took it out of the box and saw the size, I figured maybe it is for kids. I still tried it but I figured I’d end up giving it to my nephew. I am so uncoordinated that its crazy!!! I have tried this hoverboard and I have fallen several times. However, I am thrilled to say that I finally got the hang of it. I like it a lot. It has lights and I think that is a good feature for style and for safety. I also like that this can be controlled with an app and has speakers for music. I really feel that this is a good, quality, well made hoverboard and I have no reservations or concerns about giving this to my nephew. Besides, he has ridden hoverboards before and he is very good at it. I wish that the seller had done a better job of advertising this hoverboard and used accurate details. I would love to be able to keep this because it is fun to ride, but for me to be comfortable and to accommodate my not-so-little feet, a bigger hoverboard would be better suited for me….an adult! ... show more

    • Fun, easy-to-learn hoverboard—even for a 63-year old kid like me.

I have to confess that I got this for myself—a 155-pound 63-year-old kid. When I got it, I charged it up using the included AC/DC charger (which has a barrel connector on the scooter end). After it fully charged, I took it for a spin in the driveway. I’m not an expert rider, but it’s remarkably easy to learn and a lot of fun to use. Each wheel can go forward or backward depending on which way you press your feet, so you can go (or turn) forward or backward, or spin in place (one wheel forward and one wheel backward). I don’t care about the Bluetooth music feature, so I didn’t install the app. You don’t need the app to ride it. I haven’t verified the maximum speed, but I feel satisfied with the speed so far. I’ll have to run it by a speed limit radar sign. I also haven’t verified the range—though I’m looking forward to doing so. The only downside (which is true of any small hoverboard like this) is that the wheels have a small diameter so they can’t handle large cracks or holes in the riding surface, so be careful. This is a super fun hoverboard at a reasonable price, so I’m giving it 5-stars. ... show more

This review is for the Simate Hoverboard. It comes with a USB C charger included with the unit. There is a power button to turn it on or off. When you first turn the hoverboard on, it beeps and the central lights and the hub lights turn on. When you step on to it evenly, it beeps again and the central lights under your feet change to green. The hoverboard takes a little practice to balance on it and control it with the black rocking pad. If you lean forward on it evenly with both feet, you will go forwards. If you lean backwards evenly with both feet, you go backwards. To turn, lean on the opposite side you want to go with one foot. The amount you lean also controls your speed and it beeps whenever you move in either direction. As you lean to move your hoverboard, a white light on in the front and a red light in the back turns on and the central lights change color. The lights make it very colorful especially if you are riding it in the dark. There is an app called "XsCar" that you can use for more controls on your hoverboard. You can turn the power on/off, adjust lights, monitor speed and battery power, set speed modes (safe mode, beginner mode, and sports mode), etc. I didn't connect it to my phone but it has a built in bluetooth speaker if you want to play music as you use it. ... show more
