Features

  • Fits all 58mm lenses
  • Reduces Flare

Description

Universal Professional Tulip Lens Hood is primarily designed to prevent unwanted stray light (flare) from entering the lens by extending and shading the end of the lens. In addition, since the end of the lens is extended, you also get the added benefit of some extra protection from accidental impact. Screw-mount lens hoods, such as this 58mm, are designed to screw right into your lens or filter. Rear locking ring allows the user to rotate the hood in 360°direction.

  • Good quality and works well.
Perfect, just what I needed. The lens hood that came with my camera broke. This new one seems sturdier and works well. Thank you!

  • Torn between 3 and 4 stars...
I ordered this set because I wanted the lens hood, and the screen protector was a bonus. The hood is fine, and fits my Nikon lens well. My lens came with a hood, but it mounts with a squeeze-release mechanism (like the lens caps) and I worried about it coming loose. I prefer the screw-on hood mechanism, and this one has it. Can always use an extra cap leash, so that was also nice to have. But the screen protector is awful. It comes with 3 in a pack, which I am thankful for, because the first one I put on had lots of air bubbles underneath, even though I cleaned the screen very well with the lens cloth first. They provide a "squeegee" to push out the air bubbles, but it is made of cardboard and after a few "squeegee wipes", it was bending and worthless. Plus, it totally scratched up the screen protector. I had better luck putting the 2nd one on using a plastic Squeegie that came with my phone's screen protector but it still has some bubbles. And this 2nd screen protector had a small deep scratch at one end before I even removed the backing. Definitely wouldn't order this screen protector again...it's a Zeikos brand Universal Screen Guard. Would give the lens hood a 4, but the screen protector only a 1. ... show more

  • Utilty and protection
I own a Nikon D5200 and I purchased a telephoto lense to increase its versatility. The lense I purchased came with a lense hood but I purchased this as a standby. Works great fits perfectly even with a UV filter. If you want professional results use professional equipment. You have nothing to lose and it will augment your zoom lense and provide a measure of protection for the front of you expensive lense. ... show more

  • Tulip Lens hood
There's not much to say about a lens hood so its hard to get excited about it. But this product works fine. The one thing I do like is it allow you to still place the lens cap on with this attached. I purchased another brand for my 52mm lens which does not. This item screws on the thread of the lens/lens protector. I would prefer a snap on type but was unable to find one on Amazon. Other then that, was shipped on time and have no issues with the product or the seller. ... show more

  • Really not right for the Nikon 55-300
The lens is a tulip design but rotates as the lens focuses. So it's really not right for this lens. The locking mechanism really requires that the chade be kept on the lens. Not easily removed and can't be flipped like the Nikon shades. I suggest spendng a little more and getting something that is correct for the Nikon 55-300 It was so sheap I didn't bother returning it ... will probably find a home for it somewhere. It fits any standard 58mm thread sesign. Actually the stuff it came with is worth about what I paid for the "kit" .... hummmm ... show more
