The media could not be loaded. Worked perfectly for storage of the guns. Three rifles n two hand guns ! Love the secondary box inside the safe great for storing my ammunition for all five pieces;also lived the separate key for it having the option to lock it !! Could not beat the price!

I selected this one due to its mostly normal keypad layout (but the 0 key is slightly off-center). Lots of these cabinets have non-standard key layouts, which makes it harder to open quickly or in the dark for me. Mine arrived packed very well with no visible damage, but the 0 key double-presses about half the time and the 5 key doesn't work at all. Not enough of an issue to deal with the hassle of an exchange. I've seen complaints in reviews on these smaller cabinets that many handguns will block the door from closing if the gun is in the door pockets. Just turn it upside-down (muzzle pointing down, sights on the bottom). Then the door closes just fine with a full-size handgun. It will tip over with the door open. The door will also swing itself open if unlocked. So I have a fun hole in my wall to patch since it fell while I was out in the garage retrieving tools to bolt it down. ... show more

    • Decent basic security cabinet to hold a few long guns

I would definitely put this into the category of "security cabinet" rather than "gun safe." Both cabinets and safes have their use cases, with cabinets being much lower cost, but lower security. This will do a fine job of "keeping honest people honest" and keeping guns out of the hands of kids, but it wouldn't do much to provide protection from determined thieves with its relatively thin steel walls. As gun cabinets go, the ratio of price to size is certainly fair. This particular cabinet has the extra bonus of an additional lock box at the top that secures with a separate key. If you don't want this to have the double security, there is enough clearance with the door to just leave the key for the top opening inserted to just use it like a knob. The main cavity has one foam barrel support, which is very easily movable (it's just press fit in between the walls) to meet whatever requirements are required for the particular barrel length of the firearms being stored. I have the model with the electronic keypad lock (no biometrics). The lock requires 4x AA batteries, which are inserted in a battery box on the inside of the door. I'm usually not a fan of locking the batteries inside a cabinet, where dead batteries would mean you can't use the electronic lock, but in this case, the lock itself has a USB-C port on it so that you could provide power to the lock from any USB-C phone charger or power bank in the event the batteries are dead. I tested this by removing one of the batteries, and seeing that everything with the lock functioned just fine over USB-C power, so that is a fantastic backup option! As for input of the passcode to open the cabinet, I will say the password entry is a bit fiddly. The keypad is backlit, but obviously only after you press a key. Most other safes and cabinets I've used would have you press one button to first "turn on" the backlit buttons, and then begin your passcode entry. However, on this lock, whatever button you press first to turn on the key backlight IS counted as the first digit in the passcode. So, if you are in the dark and hit the wrong button first, just hit # to fail out the entry and start over. Whenever a successful passcode entry is completed, there is a LED on the inside of the cabinet that lights up to provide a bit of illumination inside the cabinet, which is a very nice touch that I'm impressed to see on such a low-cost cabinet. This is a respectable entry for consideration for anyone looking for a low-cost firearms storage cabinet that will provide a very low/basic level of security. ... show more

There’s a dent in the main door and the door inside the safe is bent so bad that you could easily pry it open. Everything about this safe is loose. I would give this safe a 3/10. There was no problem with the shipping. The damages to the safe were done prior. Poor quality
