They are so air-tight that leftovers or other food stays fresh in the fridge considerably than in other storage containers. We bought a set of glass containers that I love but the largest was 35 oz. and we really needed some bigger ones. These are sturdy and huge and work great to store leftover soups, stews, etc. The lids don't have the same hinge as the smaller containers I have and the plastic is directly connected to the locking mechanism, making the large lids more flimsy. Stackable and space saving in the cupboard when stored inside of the other without tops in snapped place and stackable space saving in the refrigerator when the tops are snapped in place.     • Only after 1 month lids bolt stay shut
What a huge disappointment that now cannot be returned. The lids even handwashing them and not putting them in the dishwasher will now not stay shut. I do not recommend buying these.
