I bought this for my 8 year old to use at camp. Right out of the box, she easily assembled it and ran off to take pictures. I don't think it came with any sort of instruction book. If it did, she lost it immediately. Anyway, you basically need to attach the strap and install the battery. It comes preset on an "auto" setting. It does have the typical camera settings for facial recognition, low lighting, etc. I did not charge the battery before letting her run off with it because she was too impatient for that. She played with in several settings over a couple of days and still hasn't needed to charge the battery, but I will make sure it is charged before camp. The pictures outside in the sun were crisp and clear so at the pool, splash pad, or beach this does well. The photos underwater in the bathtub weren't great. The camera withstood violent use by rambunctious children fighting over it both on land and in water. It seems well waterproof. Is this a high-quality camera? No. Does this take sufficient photos to record a fun day at the pool, beach, or river? Yes. It this a low-cost camera suitable for children? It seems to be so far. ... show more

Floats and takes great pictures. Only thing that's a deterant is that the micro card for storage has to use an adapter to transfer photos and you can't review the photos you've just taken underwater.

First off it's a beautiful camera that comes with a carry bag, 32gb memory card and very helpful manual. Selfie camera is such a great feature. Am so impressed with the performance quality, features and modes to take great photos and 4k videos with sound at a affordable price.
