Features

  • HOME IMPROVEMENTEspecially suitable for inserting into dryer duct. Perfect for use in bathrooms, garages, sheds, campers, stopping inflow of air from AC units, range hood extractors, heating systems.
  • EASY INSTALLATIONThe duct damper opens and closes automatically, allowing only one-directional airflow. The damper blades open only in the outflowing air direction when the shutter is installed. The duct valve for 8-inch duct best installed in a horizontal position and inserted fully into the duct. This also applies to vertical installation.
  • GREAT FOR HOME USEThe inner rubber seal is used for better tightness and for noise reduction. The outer foam sealing strip provides good tightening and fixing of the backdraft damper inside the duct. The back draught valve can be inserted into a non-flexible metal or plastic duct directly, but for flexible duct you must use steel duct clamps to secure the backdraft damper.

  • Easy install with foil tape.
Nice damper. Works great for my dryer exhaust system. Hoping to keep some cold air out of my dryer vent exhaust. Seems to help a bit. Def will keep critters out, not that I ever had a problem before… but nice in the Winter time to reduce cold air infiltration.

  • Works great, seals well, quality build
Size Name: 8-Inch 200mm
I looked at a lot of different options before purchasing this. It fit perfectly and is sturdy. On the lowest setting for my vent hood it opens just fine and on the highest setting it opens all the way and closes fine. Zero complaints.

  • Review: 4 Stars
This backdraft damper has been very effective at keeping odors out, which has made a huge difference. It works well most of the time and has really improved the air quality in my space. The only downside is that it occasionally gets stuck, so I have to check on it and adjust it now and then. Other than that minor issue, it’s a solid product that does what it’s supposed to do. ... show more

  • Nice piece
I put this damper in a horizontal run of 6" duct for a range hood. It fits right inside of standard 6" metal duct. I taped it place with aluminum tape and all is good. Because it's in a horizontal duct, it just needs to be oriented with the pivot shaft vertical, so the flaps will swing properly. It opened just fine with the range hood on low, and closed positively against the gasket that surrounds the opening when the fan is off. ... show more

  • Little plastic flaps on vent fans and on roof vent are NOT enough
Little plastic flaps on vent fans and on roof vent are NOT enough to stop wind from sucking air out of your house. When a medium wind goes over my house, I can feel and hear the wind lifting the plastic / thin metal flap and sucking the air out of the room. The reason I know this is because these are the fans that were installed before I discovered the Backdraft Damper Shutter. Those fans "leak" (/Back draft) alot of air. Now when I install any fan ( 4", 6" vent), I install one of these Backdraft Damper Shutter and it works great. ... show more

  • Keeps out the cold
Fit perfectly into my 4in dryer vent. I hated having cheap plastic flaps in the wall exhaust outside of my house, so I bought a 'cage' version, with no flap. Everything was great until winter arrived. Didn't realize how cold the dryer vent duct would get. I put this damper in and no more cold vent duct. It's a snug fit, and the flaps/springs seem solid. The overall build quality feels really good. We'll see how it does with time ... show more

  • It's good
Only thing I could wish for is to have the spring be a bit lighter. But it works well.

  • Tight seal
I have used this type of damper from other manufacturers and they are not all built the same. This one has well balanced tension on the spring to allow for free airflow yet closes pretty tight to prevent backflow. Some I have used either have springs that have too much tension and do not open easily without a good amount of air pressure and / or don't seal very well when closed allowing a lot of backflow air leakage. It does not pay to go cheap on an inline damper. This unit is a good balance of quality and price. ... show more
