  • Great value, and works well
Bought this mainly on basis of having an adjustable amp setting, and being controllable by app. There are higher power chargers out there, of course, but this can still go to the max (32a) on my Plug-in Hybrid, if I ever put in the electrical for it, which I don't plan on doing. I have an existing 20 amp circuit I wanted to use, so I set the amperage to 16a. Off-peak power rates here are 12 midnight to 3pm, so only wanted to charge during that time. My car supports such a charging schedule, fortunately, while the initial software on the app did not, and was lacking in other ways, though nothing so bad to make me want to return it. I exchanged emails with the seller, and they have provided great support. They pushed new firmware to the unit, and after deleting the unit then adding it again to Smart Life, the software was much improved, and now does everything that matters. There even seems to be a way to export the power used by day, which will be welcome in figuring out power costs for charging. ... show more

  • Quality portable charger at a very reasonable price
This might not be the most full featured or 'cutting edge' EV charger I've seen but that's not what it's trying to be. It is a first rate portable charger which you *should* have stashed in your trunk for emergencies. When evaluated in this context it is a very solid charger at a nice value price. It has all the built in protections that you find in any EV charger from a legitimate manufacturer. That includes overheating protection, over voltage protection, under voltage protection, short circuit protection, etc. It has a IP66 waterproof rating and can perform at very high (+131F/55C) and very low (-22F/-30C) ambient temperatures. It only works with a Nema 14-50 plug so keep this in mind. It has multiple certifications including UL, ETL, FCC, CE, etc. The charging functionality is solid but not particularly fast. It has a J1772 connector which means it'll work with most EVs that you'll find in North America. It also works with Tesla but you'll need the necessary adapter. Charging can be controlled through the touch button interface on the device itself or with a smartphone app. I prefer the app due to the ability to set start time and monitor what's going on. It only supports 2.4GHz wi-fi but many similar devices don't support it at all. The 25 foot cable makes it even more versatile. Probably not enough for a home charging station but a great option for a portable emergency charger. Highly recommended! ... show more

  • Basic, but functional EV charging station from AIMILER. Portable and can be used at home.
This EV charging station from AIMILER is a great option for those who want to have a portable EV charger at home but also something to carry while on the go. The EV Charger works well, but it is limited to a maximum output of 32A whereas some vehicles can receive more than 32A, sometimes up to 48A or even up to 80A. I would recommend checking with the maximum charging amperage for your specific car and choose a higher amperage EV charger if your vehicle can accept higher amperage like my EV can. Mine can do 48A but most portable chargers don't go up that high. The price is a little high but the company AIMILER offers a coupon to bring the price down. My only complaints with this product include: -Small screen to provide info on the charging session -Buttons for charging control are a bit ambiguous, it takes some time to learn and understand what they mean. this is usually a sign of poor design. In any case, this does have a nice long cable at 25ft, but I've seen ones with longer cables. It's advertised as ETL certified but I'm not so sure that's actually true. Also listed are UL, FCC, CE... But it's hard to trust at the price point after the coupon. There are some additional functionality that I haven't yet explored like app charging control but my vehicle has capability to control so I didn't want to download another app, so kudos for the company for having that extra feature. ... show more

  • Works fine, I forgot that it even had an app
I forgot that this even had an app until I went to review it. Then I had to go check that out. It's just smart life. It works fine. One note, if you are going to use an adapter and try to use this with a 110v outlet, make sure that is a good outlet. I don't mean the contractor pack garbage at the hardware store. I mean, go get the industrial outlet that cost 10x as much. No EV charger likes a cheap outlet. It either won't work or it will severely overheat. I'm happy that it has two buttons. I'm not a fan of the chargers that have one button for both amperage and delay. What? Couldn't spend the extra $1 for another button? I honestly have no reason to schedule charging, since off peak and peak hours don't exist here. It isn't difficult to use if you want to though. The cord seems a bit thicker than the cheapo chargers out there. The charger itself looks an awful lot like most of the random named chargers out there, but the cord seems a bit better made. It has been used for a while now, and it works just fine. ... show more

  • Excellent
This hits all the high points. It charges well - AND SAFELY. It is easy to package away and carry around. It definitely is level 2, which is great considering how many options just sort of flirt with that line and never cross it. I love the safety features and the simple design.

  • EV Charger
I wanted to be able to use this as both a Level 1 and Level 2 charger, but it does not seem to work with standard 110V outlets. I have an adapter to convert the NEMA 14-50R plug to NEMA 5-15P (standard US outlet); however, this charger immediately throws an undervoltage warning. I downloaded the app to see if there was any setting I could change for this, but there does not appear to be. If you have a 220V plug at home, this might work for you, but don't expect to use it as a travel charger. ... show more

  • Charges for text/sms notifications/ charge time
Charges fine but why do they charge to get notifications? It should be included with the price of the charger. Plus Ariya was at 40% when charging. 7 hours later its at 81% and the green circle light is blinking. It says 228v 19.9A power 02.95 KW is that normal? Car is set to 100% cuz we are going on a long drive ... show more
