A good product with a lousy manual that does not cover the most important thing you need to know - plug-and-play. A frustrating first night of repeated failed charging, despite following all instructions. I had to come back to the Amazon page and read the notes there, in order to figure out that there is a manually activated plug-and-play feature that finally got it to work. Overall, nothing particularly intuitive about the on board screen. But once you figure it out, it works well and it's nice to have all the different amperage settings. The 16-ft cord is more than long enough and easier to handle and store than the standard 24-ft that comes with most chargers. ... show more

This electric car charger is functional and it is compatible with almost every battery electric powered vehicle on the US market today. The plug is nearly universal, but there are also adapters you can get for it for those odd ones out, and the adapter plugs are inexpensive themselves, like less than $20 dollars. This portable car charger is also significantly cheaper than the one the manufacturers want to sell you, and cheaper than a Tesla charging unit which will run you thousands of dollars. The only problem is that it is a bit slow on the 110 Volt plug, like all night slow, maybe a little more depending on the battery size of your car. That's another thing that's great about this charger though, is that it is adaptable to either 110 volt or 240 volt outlets, which the 240 volt being the better of the two for this purpose.
