Paper is heavy but not too heavy. It cuts easily with a scissors but does not tear when placing it over the ground. Sharp objects would probably poke through, so it might be advisable to remove some of these items. I had no issues with this for the area I covered. I put bark mulch on top to hold the paper in place and to keep the weeds from sprouting. I'll see if this works for this season but I'm hopeful it will. I like the idea of the paper being degradable so next year I wont have a lot of plastic bits to deal with. ... show more

Just put this down with bark over. Easy to work with. 100 ft great amount for $. Sturdy like craft paper, so you can walk on it while setting it down, without ripping it. Just what I was looking for. Will obviously degrade in time, so much better than plastic.

I have in the past used woven weed barrier with some success. The issue always being that the fabric doesn't decompose and will eventually be raked up in torn peices. This disposable barrier will decompose and will also block weed growth. How awesome. I recommend.

I used this paper to line my garden this spring then covered it with bark chip mulch. It does exactly what it’s supposed to. My only problem is that water makes it tear really easily, which is a given as it is paper- but it makes gardening in the rain a challenge.

This is a stiff but not inflexible Kraft paper roll, easy enough to tear or cut. Does not conform to bumps and dips in the ground, and is light enough that a gentle breeze will flip it up. You’ll need to weight it down with rocks or dirt. I tend to use flattened cardboard boxes for weed kill overwinter, as they are heavy enough to stay down without needing stakes or too many other weights and keep the ground soft and moist. I wanted to try this as a lighter weed barrier this spring, so put it around some garlic I planted last October that had grasses and henbane growing up around it. It was stiff and hard to get in place without tearing, and needed a lot of coverage on top to keep down. It is easy enough to cut, being only paper, so I could have the garlic poke through. Honestly, I’m not sure how well it will keep the weeds from growing. It may be opaque enough, but it’s not heavy enough on its own to press anything flat. I think it would work better on soil that has already been cleared and raked smooth. Applying directly on top of plants, even short new growth, may not be enough, and it certainly won’t mold to a bumpy surface. Still, I prefer biodegradable options. Black plastic is all well and good, and you can use it several times, but I like to use things that will let moisture, if not light, through. Burlap sacks and cardboard have worked well, but I’m willing to give this paper a try. Can’t give it a high score until it passes the test of time, but I’m not too hopeful, so three stars. ... show more

Very long and wide roll. I had a fairly large area to cover and I had plenty left over. Very easy to roll out. The paper is thick enough to not tear easy but not so thick that it was difficult to cut with a knife or scissors. It is somewhat stiff because of the thickness meaning that it will not conform to every crook and crevice. Once the paper was laid out it was easy enough to cut off the excess and then cover with mulch. How well it works...only time will tell. ... show more
