  • Unbelievable value with some caveats
Pros: - Awesome value; a $170 itx mobo with Wifi6, ddr5 support sounds too good to be true; but this is the real deal. - Feels heavy and solid with very little flex. All headers and connectors are very sturdily attached Cons: As another review mentioned, these boards were originally the Z690I Ultra, but there was a defect in the PCIe expansion slot, so the board is only capable of PCIe3x16. This is not a big deal in 2022 as the highest end graphics cards still do not utilize all of PCIe 3 x16’s bandwidth. Weird header placement. This is my only major gripe with this board. The front audio panel header is hidden in a crevice behind a heatsink, that’s inaccessible on the CPU cooler is installed. I didn’t realize this until it was too late, and ended up having to uninstall my CPU cooler, pull up the daughter board pull out the audio cable. There are several other headers (sys fan and rgb) in a tiny crevice in between the GPU and a heatsink. You won’t be able to reach those once the GPU is installed. So if you wanna install a second fan in your chassis, you’ll have to uninstall the GPU first. The CPU power header is in an extremely hard to get to corner (nr200 chassis) it might be easier to attach the CPU power cable first before installing the board. Overall though, the negatives are nothing a little time, patience and due diligence can’t solve. The feature and price to feature ratio far outweigh the cons. Do a little bit of planning before starting a build with this beauty and you’ll be fine! ... show more

  • is ITX and pcie 3.0
it fits it is Z690i so next gen compatible we hope (Intel is saying it will be )and ddr 5 not DDR 4 and for a decent price only thing people may not know is it is PCIe 3.0 16 GPU slot that is the lite in its name ....but even a 3090 can not saturate a PCIe 3.0 at this time so for me not worth buying same board for twice the $ but the NVME M.2 slots are both PCIe 4.0 speed so plenty fast storage ..... in my opinion you can not go wrong with this board if doing a Intel build right now and need ITX platform ,. best bang for the $ I could find at the time I was searching ... show more

  • Do not purchase !!!!!!
I am gonna get straight to the point here this motherboard should not be sold to the public because of the amount of issue it has, Gigabyte even recalled it at one point. While investigating reports of customers experiencing issues with their Z690I AORUS ULTRA, they discovered that there are certain cases of system instability and WHEA PCIe errors when paired with some PCIe Gen4 graphics cards. Setting the PCIe speed to Gen3 through the BIOS will eliminate these symptoms but you shouldn't have to do that who buys a new item for old features ? Ethernet dose not work either despite said cable works with everything with an Ethernet input in my home I returned the first one because I thought it was defective however the second one I got had the same issues. Whoever is reading this review you are welcome you don't have to make the same mistake I did. ... show more

  • MAKE NOTE OF THIS
It comes without internet drivers so you cant install windows (no internet) that you need to be able to update drivers. BUT you can press shift+F10 and enter “OOBE\BYPASSNRO” into the command prompt to bypass installing windows without internet and then the drivers will auto update. You’re welcome.

  • Great value, but wish I knew before buying...
That the itx form factor has changed in the past 3 years. Every 3-5 years, I build or upgrade my PC setups, and the last itx case was extremely tight, but I was able to fit in a low profile cooler at least. With this mobo, it's a requirement to do water cooling, which I was planning on doing anyways. The thing is, it took me 3 tries to do it because the clearance is so tight and my cooler had to be rotated twice to get the setup to the point where the water tubes were not being pushed down against the fan. The 2nd worst thing is DDR5 support. As of early 2023, DDR4 is still a much better value than DDR5, about 1/2 the price and probably 90% of the performance. Unfortunately itx DDR4 boards with 1700 socket were not very common to find. All of the other connections are extremely tight. For example, the front HD Audio connector is initially lodged under the m2 expansion pcb. You have to unscrew the layered heatsink and then pull out the m.2 expansion pcb. Speaking of which, the mobo supports 2 m.2 drives, but only one works. I only need one, but having one not work is a real bummer. Lastly, the usb-a connector to the mobo isn't working, but I haven't figured out if this is the case connector or mobo issue. It works, and it was $20 cheaper than the competition, but I ended up spending $60 more on RAM and could have potentially saved more on cooling, and still my new setup is lacking front USB and m.2 expansion. So it's bittersweet. ... show more

  • Budget friendly ITX mobo w/ challenges
TLDR: Cheap, strange design of the NVME daughterboard & huge heatsink I upgraded my home computer with this board and installed this into an NZXT H1 v2 case. The first and foremost concern I have is the daughterboard & ginormous heatsink for the NVME drive(s). The only way to access the onboard audio connection is to remove the NVME daughterboard and then pull out the plug/cord. It dangles freely, which is kind of a lame/poor design. To top that off, the heatsink for this daughterboard is insanely huge and I could not get it to fit inside the H1v2 case due to the radiator piping without crushing the piping, and I didn't want to do that. I decided to remove the cooler and install my NVME drive underneath the daughter board. I would imagine that there could be issues with other CPU cooler/heatsinks due to this huge heatsink. Other than that, the build was pretty straightforward and the system runs stable. If I need to add a 2nd NVME drive, I'd have to probably buy one with a low-profile passive heatsink. Also, the PCIE video is only 3.0 (I didn't realize this until after) but not a big deal since the current video cards don't even saturate the 3.0 bus and I am running an RTX 2080 TI. In summary, great price but building in smaller cases could be challenging with the inherent design of the board. ... show more
