  • An oustanding stainless steel cookware set comparable to high-end!
Over decades of cooking, I have built up a collection of odds and ends of cookware of all types, but this is the first time I have purchased a complete collection. I am happy overall with this professional-looking and functional set of eleven pieces. The collection may not match the characteristics of cookware sets costing hundreds of dollars, but it is attractive, solidly made, and functional in the kitchen. These are not non-stick, as they have no Teflon or ceramic coating. The insides of the pieces are stainless steel. However, I have not found significant issues with food sticking. The smaller pans and pots have tempered glass lids with a steam vent hole. Unlike some older lids I have, the vent hole has a permanently bonded metal ring around it, unlike cheap lids with a silicone or rubber ring that is prone to come off, deteriorate over time, or get lost. The metal handles are all relatively long, and even the small panhandle is about nine inches long! A similar-size pan I have had for years only has a six-inch handle. My experience so far is that the handle has not gotten hot, even close to the pan itself. I tried a pan and skillet on a glass-top electric stove. They lay perfectly level on the surface and heat evenly. The pans, as pictured, also have liquid measurement markings inside. For years, I have been hand washing the pans after use rather than putting them in the dishwasher to preserve their glossy shine. I hope to get many years of good use out of the set. Compared to expensive sets, I saved myself hundreds of dollars. ... show more

  • I love this set, so heavy-duty and it's stainless steel!!
I had a set of 2 pots and 1 pan for a long time, also made of stainless steel. I always looked in store for something similar, but the pots and pans I found were much lighter, seemed flimsy and I was worried they'd warp when used with high heat. I took a chance on this set, and it's amazing! Just as thick stainless steel, the lids fit perfectly and seal well, all lids have a steam hole for venting and the handles of all of the pots and pans are long and heavy-duty! No way will these come off (I had this issue with an older stainless steel pot... ). The set includes a steamer, which sits perfectly in the pot and the lid fits well. I would 100% recommend this set, it's perfect and exactly what I was looking for, great quality! One thing to mention is, due to the thickness of the pots and pans, I wouldn't recommend for someone with weak hands/arms (someone elderly for example) as due to the weight, when there are contents inside, you will need both hands/arms to move them. They are heavy! And another thing about the pans: these are not coated with some toxic non-stick material - this means that they are not non-stick and being stainless steel, you'll need to use oil and be careful when cooking in them. I prefer it this way (had my fair share of toxic non-stick coating come off in foods...), but most people will complain about this.... just know, these are not coated and therefore not non-stick! ... show more

  • I like these a lot.
Not too heavy but not light weight either. The lids fit very nice ,hardly even moves as in no gaps. I did an AI search on the different types of stainless steel, here ya go. "430 Stainless Steel: Lower corrosion resistance due to no nickel. Magnetic, suitable for induction cooktops. More affordable but less durable than 304/316. Can rust more easily with prolonged exposure to certain foods or environments. 304 Stainless Steel: Contains 18% chromium and 8% nickel for good corrosion resistance. Non-magnetic, not ideal for induction without a magnetic base. Durable, commonly used in kitchenware for its balance of price and performance. 316 Stainless Steel: Includes 2-3% molybdenum for superior corrosion resistance, especially against salts. Also non-magnetic, similar to 304 in use but pricier. Best for harsh environments or when cooking with acidic or salty foods. In summary, 316 is the most resistant to corrosion, 304 is a versatile middle ground, and 430 is budget-friendly but less resistant to corrosion. Tri-ply pans with 304 stainless steel on the inside, 430 stainless steel on the outside, and aluminum in the middle offer some specific advantages: Heat Conductivity: The aluminum core provides excellent heat distribution, ensuring even cooking across the pan's surface. Durability and Corrosion Resistance: The 304 stainless steel interior is highly resistant to corrosion and is food-safe, while the 430 stainless steel exterior adds durability, particularly useful for the physical wear and tear from cooking environments. However, 430 is less corrosion-resistant than 304, especially in environments with high salt or acid exposure. Induction Compatibility: The 430 stainless steel outer layer makes the pan compatible with induction cooktops, as it's magnetic. Cost-Effectiveness: Using 430 on the outside instead of 304 or 316 helps in keeping the cost down without significantly compromising on the pan's overall performance or longevity for most cooking scenarios. Maintenance: While the 304 interior can handle regular kitchen use, be cautious with the 430 exterior in environments prone to moisture or salt to prevent rust. This construction provides a good balance of performance, durability, and cost for everyday cooking needs. Remember, though, the exterior might not be as resistant to rust as the interior, so you might want to dry the pan well after washing, especially if you're in an area with high humidity or using it for cooking with lots of salt or vinegar.
