These are adorable. The "house" section seem to be ok. However, I don't think that these will work well for actually feeding the birds. Truthfully, I doubt the humming birds would actually use the house part either, But they are adorable to just hang for decorations. I have them where my morning glory vines grow every year, so maybe the birds will check them out, but they like to nest high. I don't find them functional but nice for decoration. ... show more

    • Cute House, Feeder is Pointless!
These are very cute wood hummingbird houses that I plan to hang in my yard this spring. I hope this will help some hummers find a place to live since we lost a large neighborhood tree where they nested. The houses are wood and they are sturdy and attractive. They come with a hook that supposedly holds a "feeder" except hummingbirds don't eat seed so it is completely pointless. I plan to either remove the feeder or hang it upside down so it is just a red empty cup. The houses are fine, the hooks work as a hook, but the overall design needs work by someone with some knowledge of hummingbirds. ... show more

This past Summer and Fall I noticed that a few hummingbirds were flying around my side yard. When these Hummingbird Feeders were available to review I was excited to get them. There's nothing to install or put together, so hanging these feeders are super simple. They look whimsical and cute to hang, so I'm hoping to attract more little birds to my patio area since I spend so much time out there. The have a small plastic cup above he house perch area that holds the sugar water that attracts hummingbirds. And the little "house" is just big enough for weary hummingbird to relax for a spell, and maybe decide to stick around for a while. The outside of the "house" portion has a good coating of some clear protection covering that will hopefully keep them looking new and cute for years to come. Oh, and these would make a GREAT GIFT IDEA for a neighbor, friend, or relative that enjoys puttering in their yard. ... show more

This was as simple as possible, two large hooks that latch together. The nectar slot doesn't look like it'll last long since anything can fall into it, but could easily be filled with rain water for some rehydration. The "hotel" below is easy to connect and seems like it should be plenty inviting to humingbirds, but since there's a large open hook I am worried that the wind will cause some swinging that unhooks the two from eachother. I will investigate the best way to keep them latched in. ... show more

    • Cute house but not a hummingbird feeder
I got this strictly for the houses to attract small birds. Even in the description pictures you can see that the "feeder" is filled with seeds which hummingbirds don't eat. And if you put seeds in them there's no place for other birds to comfortably sit and eat so it's not likely they'll use it either. These are actually ant motes to keep ants away but I'm not sure ants are a problem for nests like they are for the sweet nectar in the feeders so I really don't know why these are part of this set. However, they will come in very handy for three of our feeders when they go back out in the spring. As far as the nest boxes themselves, they are cute but I don't know how well they will stand up to weather. I am also skeptical they will actually work for hummingbirds since it's not their habit to use such structures. But we'll put them out anyway. Maybe other small birds will use them. They can certainly be used for indoor décor. Or maybe even for very small indoor pet birds like finches? ... show more

    • Adorable....just like a hummingbird
These really are so cute. They seem fairly sturdy but I don't think they will hold up well in the harsh New England winters. Even if they could, I'm not willing to chance it because they are just so cute. This is a set of 3 so you could easily split it up into 3 gifts if you wanted to. I am so looking forward to spring when I will be able to set these out and welcome little hummingbird families. I have another set of just the homes that are cool, but I figure these having the feeders on top will entice them more to move in. I read somewhere to put cotton balls inside them, so I will do that, too. I hope it works. Outside of creating a little birdie village, these will actually look adorable just hanging from my trees, because they're well-made and adorable! ... show more
