  • Its Milwaukee...nuff said
My work carries this brand and this particular unit. I bought one to keep on my truck so I do not have to check it out of our tool shed. I have gotten into more boiler work and this will be a time saver for me personally. I will not have to leave a job site and come back. this expander tool is easy to use and a trusted name in tools. All of my professional tools are Milwaukee...and M12 has been good for me. Powerful enough to get jobs done. ... show more

  • I know it isn't cheap.
For the non-plumbers like myself: I know it isn't cheap. I originally thought no-way will I get this. For one, yes, PEX-A is worth it. If you're facing a whole-hose repipe, like I was, this is the way to go. The manual PEX-A Expanders are ok for a couple of joints in an open area. If you need to expand PEXA in any sort of attic, crawlspace, or tight area, your manual expander won't do the job. I was hesitant because I was worried that for THIS kind of money, it better be so damn awesome and easy to use, that I seriously doubted it would be a good trade. The re-pipe is done, and I have little need for this tool anymore. Yet even if I didn't have it anymore, the sheer quantity of expansion collars I had to stretch out for just one BIG job made the cost worth it. If you don't believe me, buy the manual expander first. Try it out under perfect conditions, seated comfortably, air conditioning, plenty of room, nearby beer, remember to rotate 30° each expansion. Then try it in your attic, blown insulation in your eyes, 105°+, bent over, balancing on the ceiling joists, angry, then do 7 squeezes, rotate 30° each time. Repeat for every collar. Now box-up and return the manual expansion tool. This Milwaukee will talk you through it, cheer you on, and will seat the collars properly so you don't need to do it all over again. He will become your favorite tool that you rarely use again when you see what he is willing to do for you in your worst situations. I'd pay this amount just to rent him for the hot, itchy hell he carried me through. You'll be so thankful, you'll give him a proper name. All the expansions I did, not one leaker. Good luck with your re-pipe. ... show more

  • Fast
Great tool it’s pretty light and fits into corners good . Bought it for an addition with 2 new bathrooms a laundry and new kitchen, it knocked out the Pex A crazy fast . Just realize it doesn’t come with batteries. I ordered it on vacation after a couple of beers and was surprised that it was a bare tool ... show more

  • Worked great, but So did the manual Apollo tool.
I ended up returning it because the manual tool was cheaper, about 140.00, I'm a home owner, not a professional. Couldn't justify the cost, it kept bothering me, I returned it, then I needed it again, so I bought the manual Apollo tool at HD, 3 to 4 pumps and just as quick. If you got the money get it, if your cheap like me get the manual tool. ... show more

  • Game changing plumbing tool!
As a DIY’er plumbing is one of my least favorite things to do. This tool changes the game! The expansion PEX process is quick and easy.
