Description

If you’re working with pipes, you’ll need to cut them at some point. Whether you’re a plumber, HVAC specialist, boiler worker, or other industrial worker, you’ll benefit from Milwaukee’s 12 Volt lithium ion copper pipe cutter. Rather than hack through your tubing with a handsaw or other crank-operated hand tool, simply pull the trigger on this powerful device and you’ll be able to rip through 3/8" to 1” piping with ease. Don’t worry about adjustments, because the 2471-20 will do it for you. Simply hold it over the pipe, press the trigger, and hold on until the unwanted end of your pipe falls away. Its motor runs at up to 500 RPM, so you know you’ll be able to tear through it with ease. Damp environments won’t weaken the strength of this tool, either. Its insulated design keeps water out of the motor and other moving parts, letting you focus completely on the task at hand without fear of unnecessary wear. While it works best with the 12V Red Lithium line of batteries, this cutter will function with the other 12 Volt lithium ion or NiCad batteries offered from Milwaukee (batteries not included). For industrial applications where time and quality are of the essence, look no further than the Milwaukee 2471-20 to fulfill your needs with ease. From the Manufacturer Milwaukee Electric Tool Corporation introduces the industry's first M12 Copper Tubing Cutter, specifically designed for cutting copper with the speed and versatility that plumbers, mechanical contractors and remodelers require. With a 12-Volt LITHIUM-ION battery and ultra efficient gearing, the 2471-22 performs over 200 cuts on a single charge. A close-Quarter rotating head cuts installed copper tubing with as little as 1-1/2-Inch of clearance. At 500 RPM, the patent pending cutting mechanism cuts copper tubing up to 10X faster than conventional cutters and automatically adjusts diameter to cut through 3/8" – 1" copper tubing (1/2-Inch – 1 1/8" OD, Type K, L and M). The inline design offers greater reach and reduced wrist strain in confined spaces. The metal cutting head is corrosion and rust resistant and is sealed for protection from water. Electronic overload protection and uni-body construction provide exceptional durability. Additional features include a battery fuel gauge, which displays the remaining run-time and a built-in LED work light which illuminates the work surface. Backed by Milwaukee's 5-Year tool warranty.

  • great copper pipe cutter
I bought the Milwaukee pipe cutter from Amazon because it was about $5.00 cheaper than other retailers but the real savings was in the free shipping. For those of you who don't like a Milwaukee tool made in China, this tool is not for you. Like my other ancient Milwaukee tools I accumulated over time, this tool has the typical Milwaukee heavy-duty-feel feed-back: it feels solid and sturdy, balanced weight distribution, and industrial performance. The tool quickly cuts my 3/4" copper pipe without fanfare, leaving a smooth cut. I doubt I will ever go back to using a manual cutter. As with almost all Milwaukee tools, this tool is well conceived and executed -- which is why I seldom deviate from the Milwaukee brand. Whether you are doing a small piping job as a DIY or as a tradesman, this Milwaukee pipe cutter will make your job go easier. ... show more

  • Excellent tool
I work in cryogenic and I've run miles of type L and K 1 1/8" copper pipe. I have 2 in my service truck and 1 as a spare. This tool is a time saver, wrist, hand and patience saver. The oldest is 4 years old and as long as you change the blade when needed (for me roughly every 200 cuts) it's a great tool. ... show more

  • Great tool
Love this tool. Been working in a crawl space plumbing the whole house and works like a dream. If you do copper and doing a big job, get this. For the price the time savings is what counts.Used the small battery and lasted all day. Paid for itself in time spent. Also where space is tight it really worked great. ... show more

  • GREAT TOOL
What used to take allot of time to cut copper and allot of wrist pain, now takes just a few seconds and no more pain in my wrist. This is a great tool and does not need to be charged very often. The cuts are clean.

  • A must-have for tight spaces
This tool is extremely useful when cutting copper pipe in close quarters. But it makes cutting copper pipe under any circumstances just about effortless. In case you're tempted to try cutting metal conduit using this tool, don't bother. I tried and it won't work. But it's designed for copper pipe and works fine for that purpose. ... show more

  • Doesn’t cut 3/8” copper (HVAC)
Doesn’t cut 3/8 inch copper as advertised. Very sensitive tool, copper has to be completely parallel with cutting blade to cut, if it’s off a little bit it just spins and kinks copper. Wish it cut 3/8. When it works it’s a great tool, cuts through 5/8 like butter.

  • Wish I got it sooner
Did a ton of plumbing on the new water softener and shut-offs. Boy, I wish I got this sooner. So quick cutting new pipes, but then realized it's quite hand removing old work out too. So far only cutting 1/2" and 3/4" type M and L copper. The reset takes a second to remember and cutting very small pieces is not recommended. Otherwise, this is a dream tool. ... show more

  • Not working right out of the box.
I took it out of the box, and it worked for nearly a minute or two.
