Got 25 packs, because this particular brand had a pretty significant discount compared to other options (I have 94 posts and I wanted some spares, just in case). Overall, the quality is not bad. Out of 25 packs, only a handful of insulators had large chips, but not significant enough to render them useless, so it wasn't a big deal. Installation is pretty simple, but I'll say that any amount of torque, even with hand-tightening loosens the bolts, because the plaster that was used to secure them is not very strong. However, none of the bolts fell out, and other than some of them being able to turn slightly, I didn't observe any other issues. Time will tell how these bolts will hold up to rust, of course. I am just finishing up about 1,200 feet of four-rail wooden fence and am putting a single run of electric fencing along the top to help keep the wildlife out. Overall, the job will require about 200 insulators. I only ordered one bag of these to check the quality. They seem to be of good manufacture, so I’ll order seven more bags to be able to finish things up. They seem just a little smaller in diameter than some I’ve used in the past, but that isn’t a concern... they’ll still get the job done with no issues. ... show more

We end up having to replace several broken plastic electric fence insulators each year, but we have never had to replace the porcelain insulators we have. Porcelain insulators are a bit more expensive, so we plan to use them in the corners, and at the gates of our pastures where they get the most abuse. These ones appear to be identical to the ones from the local tractor store, but you can save a few bucks buying them in bulk here. Good luck with your farming project. ... show more

They've not been installed yet, but the porcelain insulators seem to be of good quality with quality finishing and a nice long screw to attach them to wooden poles. The hole is 1/2" in diameter. No reason not to give this 5 stars!
