  • As advertised
Easy to install. It works perfectly on my Nest Thermostat

  • HUZZAH!
Got the wires connected but couldn't figure out how to get the Nest back on the base with the wires (...plus didn't seem like it was working anyway) so came here and actually read thru the comments and I'm SO GLAD I DID! Firstly, one thing I maybe missed in the instructions is that you need to detach the base part with the wires from the wall cover, run it thru, attach the wires, and screw it back on in order to be able to get the nest back on the base. Secondly, the person who mentioned the white wire WITH THE GREY LINE needs to be connected to the C socket and the other one (in the pic it has the #s on it) goes to Rc. I tried to run the system and that didn't work but it would work with just the blue white in the C socket (...and then it gave me the power outage error after a few minutes)... so I just put the white/grey line wire WITH THE blue one in the C socket, the other wire in the Rc... and worked like gangbusters! Living in Texas, in the middle of summer without reliable AC is awful so I'm overjoyed that the fix was this $15 adapter! The little wire holders supplied are super nice too - they give you more than you need - so I could run the wire up over the 1/2-bath door to the outlet. ... show more

  • It works where you need a "C" or "common" wire
I have a Nest thermostat hooked up to my central air. From day one I had issues with the system not working properly after I installed the Nest. I chalked it up to the system being over 25 years old at the time of installation. Fast forward and I just replaced the system with a brand new one and I assumed that with the new system all would work as it should. It did not. In fact, I was unable to use the Nest as the system would run for about 2 minutes, cycle off, delay start for about 5 minutes and then cycle on again for about 2 minutes. The tech who installed the system said it was probably due to a lack of the "C" wire but due to the crazy routing of my wiring it would be extremely difficult to redo it. This solved all the issues. The key is knowing what you are doing. There are 2 wires and they are non polar i.e. doesn't matter which you use as the "C" or the "Rc". The key is that you must splice one of the 2 wire with your existing "Rc" wire, the other goes into the "C". Now all is working as it should :-). The only reasons for not giving 5 stars is: 1. it is twisted wire as opposed to solid which is easier to install into the thermostat 2. no instructions included so you really must know what you are doing in advance. ... show more

  • Works, has instructions.
Despite the countless people complaining of no instructions, the product does actually come with instructions. Works well. No issues. Simple set up.

  • Worked for 3 seasons then melted
Thermostat stopped working after 3 seasons. After reinstalling the old thermostat (with no common wire) everything worked. This wire had burn marks surrounding the insulation near the terminal. Wires themselves fused together. Gauge not large enough to keep the nest terminal lock depressed, even when doubling back on itself. ... show more

  • Works with Amazon smart thermostat!
I used this power adapter to power a simple propane “hot dawg” garage heater. Red and white heater wire were connected to the W and Rh of the thermostat. And the power adapter was connected to 120 power and the 24 AC wire non polar were attached to the Rc and cC of the thermostat. Power up “Set” is displayed and follow the Alexa app to finish setup of the thermostat. So far so good. ... show more

  • Not required for Nest Learning Gen 4 thermostat
The instructions were unclear when the thermostat has only two wires i.e. Rh and W. The instructions says to connect the C wire and RH from the adapter to thermostat. While that powered on the Thermostat it did not turn on the heat or communicate in anyway with the furnace. I called Google and they asked me to take the adapter wires off and connect the old W to W on the next boards and old Rh to the Rh on the Nest board and it worked fine then. The nest learning app also comes with USB charging slot so once in few months you just need to plug it for an hours to charge the display battery and they say one should be fine with that. ... show more
