It comes with everything you need to assemble, so no extra tools are necessary. Just remember to add the height of your mattress to the frame high. The bed frame was a bit confusing until we figured it out. It did take some time fitting the bars across each side. I reviewed all the bed frames before I bought one. This one had some bars that were automatically in the right spot. All the rest had to be lined up and pushed into to tight slots. Took about 30 minutes and was ready to put in the bedroom and then the mattress on top. Is used almost every weekend and is solid. Would buy another if I needed one. ... show more

We spent 2 hours putting the queen size frame together then realized the slats are three inches too long and must be for a king size frame. The box had been opened and repackaged

Very easy to put together and very sturdy. Although like most of them, there are no guides to hold the bed in place so you need to find other means to keep it from sliding. Not a big deal.

My kid is pretty pleased with this bed frame. It sits pretty high off the ground, but rather than storage space underneath which it would be great for, it is more often used as a fort that even I (6 foot, 280lbs) can slide under when it has been commanded of me. It was easy enough to put together. Once you get the main pieces assembled it becomes pretty self-explanatory and you don't really need the instructions. One minor complaint I did have during assembly though was that some of the holes didn't line up exactly and "Mr. Hammer" did have to make a brief appearance to tap some bolts through to the other side so the nut could be threaded on and tightened down properly. Minor machining issue and obviously it wasn't terrible since I was able to tap them through... but it did have to take some hits. That's just an item of note because it was a little frustrating, but still a good bed frame overall. ... show more
