Since I am continuing with my pickleball classes, I decided buying a good paddle was worth it. Based on reviews and specs, I took a chance on this paddle and I really like it. It's thicker than my cheaper paddle, but still lighter. The most noticeable aspect is my control in hitting the ball is significantly better. Even the instructor noticed my improvement. She suggested the Selkirk brand and she gave this paddle high praise after checking it out. And for those "fashion bugs" out there, you can't beat the selection of colors. This paddle is awesome! It's light and has a good grip. Sadly after one use part of the paint chipped off the side.

My only experience is with this and the original Friday Pickleball paddle. The Friday had a bit more power and surface grit but this takes the cake on control, sweet spot and swing weight. Very solid paddle for the price point, it feels good in the hand. The face of the paddle is medium. It can generate a modest amount of spin but nothing crazy. So far the paddle has held up pretty good. I'm pretty hard on paddles and it has took it like a champ. The design is crisp and vivid. I recommend! ... show more

As expected from a Selkirk product, this paddle lives up to the hype. It is much better than the entry level paddle I was using. It has a nice sweet spot that is very forgiving on those hard shots and absorbs the power and allows me to return the ball where I want to. It has a nice surface for spins and is perfect for a control game with just enough power to make returns difficult I will trade up at some point but for my game now, this paddle is perfect. ... show more

There’s not much to dislike about this paddle. The appearance and design of it is unmatched if that’s a must for you. There are many designs to choose from, but obviously that’s not going to enhance your play. This paddle is very light weight and easy to use so for someone new to the game of pickleball, I think this paddle could be ideal. However, this paddle was not the optimal choice for my wife and I as we had gotten used to playing with thicker paddles so we felt this one required more force. We got the paddle as we were intrigued by the hybrid surface, but we could tell little difference when comparing it to other carbon fiber paddles we own. As far as value for money, I think that they are better options out there if you are on a budget. I think that would be my biggest takeaway. Like you can’t judge a book by its cover…The stylish face designs on this paddle doesnt warrant the price tag in my opinion when factoring in the performance. ... show more
