This unit is a great upgrade from glitchy factory VW radio. Install was pretty straightforward despite slightly vague instructions. Eonon customer service is top notch! Unlike Amazons! 'check for loose wires'. LOL! Eonon Immediately sending me new backup cam adapter free of charge! Amazon actually wanted me to provide ID for return! I bought it on my acct, they shipped it to my address and no asking to prove who I was then! All steering wheel and related functions work great, it sounds great! I got the OBD sender and can have 6 functioning gauges on screen with my music! I would recommend this to anyone looking to upgrade the disfunctional rns510 in their Volkswagen. I will update review when I get new adapter. FROM EONON! Thanks for nothing Amazon customer service. Eonon is good product and company! Would give ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆ if possible!     • Great way to upgrade any VW Jetta
Very easy installation. Wiring harness is set to VW. The are some tip and tricks videos on YouTube that were very helpful. I recommend reviewing all the connectors for those that you will and will not use. Definitely connect the GPS. Unless you plan on using cellular and adding a SIM Card, don't bother with the cellular antennas. Definitely improved the sound in the car. Car Play is great from this head unit. Would have given it 5 stars, but my only gripe I has been trying to install the Dash Camera that they offered with the unit. The camera software caused the unit to glitch and would not come back on. I had to disconnect the harness, (Which is removing the 4 screws that hold it in.) and reconnect it for it to come back to life. So far so good and my son is very happy.     • Works better than expected
My past experience with these types of head units has been that they look nice but don’t function that great. After some positive reviews from fellow VW owners on the forums I decided to give it a try. It’s only been in for 4 days but I travel a good bit for work so it’s gotten quite a bit of use. So far no complaints. Not glitchy or laggy like I feared it may be. The wireless CarPlay is definitely the biggest factor for me. I can seamlessly change podcasts/music and switch back and forth to GPS, and I haven’t had any issues with it lagging or glitching out on me. The fit and finish in the dash is incredibly precise and while the wiring harness appears daunting it was actually pretty straightforward, it’s all plug and play. Took about 10 minutes for me to get it installed. There are some YouTube installation videos if you’re feeling a bit hesitant in that regard. My only incredibly minor complaint is that the listing stated there would be a discount if the dash cam, OBDII reader, and rear view cam would be discounted if coupled with the purchase of the head unit. I tried several times to add all three to my cart and proceed to checkout but because they weren’t discounted I just decided to get the head unit and the OBDII scanner. The media could not be loaded. After ordering a SCUMAXCON 7" Car Stereo Radio and being disappointed, then ordering this EONON unit with delivery being on a Sunday at my office (it got returned to sender), I re-ordered it. Worth. The. Wait. It functions with everything in my MK6 2012 Jetta Sportwagen (Memphis single 12" ported | Alpine M500 w/ custom fit bass knob | LC2i (because stock HU previously needed a LOC to wire an amp). Even still using the LC2i LOC to feed this is a vast improvement over stock! Multi-layered adjustability for sound w/ 3 save settings per level combo, quick touchscreen, sharp on games, movies, Torque App w/ Bluetooth dongle for real time vehicle info, and GPS, etc. It does everything that it says it does, and does it pretty darn well. Easy to install APK apps from USB or microSD card, expansion on these units was well thought out IMHO. My only (admittedly small) issue is that on wireless CarPlay I cannot get internet when outside of CarPlay app to browser and other installed apps. When wired via USB it works 99.9% of the time! Maybe it is operator error with setup. This is a mild frustration, but with as much as this HU does at the price point, I would buy from this company again! ... show more

    • Cool head unit but has issues
Very nice plug n play unit for my 2012 GTI. Nice fit an finish. It can be a little buggy and there is some feedback noise coming through the speakers on my dynaudio system. After about a month of use the head unit is very buggy. The wireless CarPlay only works half the time and it has completely shut down on me a couple times but works when I start the car the next day ... show more

Radio does what it's supposed to when it works, cuts out and reboots for no reason. Sent back and they sent me a "refurbished" that doesn't cuts out more often, and the screen went wonky (see photo) Waiting for another replacement

    • Decent Replacement Head Unit but with issues
Kit comes with everything needed to install and have a factory look (installed in 2009 VW Rabbit). BUT, the Bluetooth drops calls, often. AND, it needs to be reset approx once per week. Will contact the company about these issues, and if they continue I may find a replacement.
