  • so far so good
out of 20 seeds only two did not germinate . The others have been sprouting like crazy over the last five or so days since starting them. I havent planted them yet because the roots have not developed yet, but that seems to be on track with the amount of time the package said it would take. They were very easy to sprout, so , so far so good. it can take 5 months for them to bloom once planted so thats about all i can say at the moment. would I buy again? If they thrive yes, if not maybe I would try again. ... show more

  • Quite finicky seeds, no success
I watched so many videos on YouTube who all say these are easy to grow. Just didn’t work for me and I tried with two batches. They have to be grown in perfectly ideal conditions. I’m sad, I really wanted to grow lotus flowers.

  • Truly impressed
I place these seeds in a bowl of water and put them outside in the sun. Changed the water after three days. Within the next three days the shoots were coming out of the seeds. Changed the water again and left in the sun. Within the next 3 days leaves were forming and I then placed in the pond. All seeds germinated and now have leaves. Two weeks have passes since placing the seeds into water. I truly am impressed. Leaves are floating on the pond and am awaiting to see if they flower. Not expecting to in the first year but who knows. I will mention that I live in the country and started these seeds in well water. Not sure if that makes a difference verses city water that has chlorine in it. ... show more

  • Don't sprout
I bought three packages, one for myself and one for each of my daughters. I was enchanted by the advertising showing bowls of water-blooming lotus. I didn't sprout them all at once: I tried them about four at a time over six weeks. They need warmish water on a sunny windowsill, according to the instructions. First time, all they did was mold. Then I learned they need to be cracked--gently--so the little sprout can wiggle out of the very hard shell. I did two rounds of this. THeir insides just rotted into a puffy mess. Third try, I cracked them gently on an anvil; this time, one of them put out a tiny little foot. I was elated; but my husband thought something ugly was decaying on the windowsill and dumped it all out. Neither of my daughters had any luck, either. ... show more

  • They All sprouted!!
I started out following the instructions and changing the water daily. Then I got busy with work and completely forgot I had bought these until I was doing some reviews and saw them in my purchases. I ran over and looked and every single one had a huge sprout!! I've got them in a dirt/water sludge now and praying I can keep them going. Will update more if I don't x them with my ADD ... show more
