  • Addictive viewing
Color: 1 PACK-1
I purchased this to find out what was digging around my deck, then I got addicted. I set it up most nights and it captures all the wildlife wandering around my yard overnight. Mostly foxes, rabbits, a skunk, possums etc, but I love seeing them. It’s very easy to use and the best $35 I’ve spent in a long time. Highly recommend this ... show more

  • Great for a first-time trail cam!
Color: 1 PACK-1
The media could not be loaded. Very impressed with this trail cam. The battery life lasts pretty long. It takes 4-8 batteries and after using the camera for a month, I've only had to change them once. I wish the cam came with a charger, which may be purchased separately. The daytime photo quality is pretty good, and the night-time quality is also pretty good up to about 25 feet or less. You can change the settings on the camera easily to take photos and both video, just video, or just photos. Pretty simple. You can also password protect and lock the camera. The only complaint I have is that the little pull tie that takes the battery protector off, came out and now I have to use tweezers. Also, I wish the Off/Test/On switch was located outside of the locked compartment, which isn't a big deal, but it ends up sending photos and video of me trying to unlock it, open it up and turn it off. ... show more

  • Excellent but....
Color: 1 PACK-1
I have been using this camera for about 2 months and i feel I know how it works fairly well. First, the good: It takes excellent quality pictures, even at lowest resolution. It takes amazing pics at night with zero available light. It does the essential job very well. Now the not so good: Documentation is ok but translation into english is very poor and that makes it difficult to follow and takes away from the overall value of the camera. Makes it very amateurish. It now includes the memory card, nice, but that is not documented anywhere. Vendor: I understand it is a recent change and your documentation has not been updated, but you could at least put a slip of paper in there explaining that the card is now included. Leaving us guessing turns a positive change into a negative. Same with batteries - come on, only 4 included? Very cheap of you, include 8 and raise the price a dollar or two. A lot has been written about battery life, so far that seems ok to me. Not great but it seems to be acceptable. It would be nice if there was a viewer on the outside of the camera so you know what area you are going to photograph. We are left to placing the camera and hoping it is right. So...despite my frustrations, it does the job very well and if it the documentation was better I would have given it 5 stars for sure. Update 3/9/23: I thought I had an issue with taking pics at night, but by the time I heard from them (2 days), I had figured it out and got it working properly. Tech support was very prompt and helpful, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed. ... show more

  • Great unit, Great Price
Color: 1 PACK-1
Have had several more expensive units in the past, for the money this provides the same level of service as the high end models do. Both day and night images are clear and well defined. Can capture the slightest movement with it sensitivity adjustments. Overall a great trail camera and will definitely purchase additional units as others expire! ... show more

  • Garbage, regret buying it
Color: 1 PACK-1
UPDATE: After five months running it, I've set this camera up about 9 or 10 times and let it run. It has worked correctly maybe two of those times, and the photo quality when it has worked has been awful. In most cases, it has taken anywhere from 2 to 10 pictures and then stopped. Sometimes, it will just get me walking away from it and nothing else, when I've watched animals walk in front of it, and I've walked in front of it again myself. Sometimes, you don't even get that. I've tried every suggestion and every trick that I've learned in nearly 30 years of running trail cams, and this thing is just garbage. I regret buying it. I've owned and used a lot of trail cameras over the years, going back to the 35mm days in the mid-1990s. This one definitely isn't the worst that I've owned, but the quality is more akin to cameras that I owned a couple of generations back than the ones I use today. I was looking for a less expensive option than my current preferred brand, which costs about twice what this Vikeri costs, and I saw quite a few very good video reviews of it online, so I decided to give it a shot. The camera arrived nicely packaged. On removing it from the box, I thought the construction of the case and the latches seemed to be of a lower quality than my other cams, but that's to be expected at this price point. On the positive side, the seal around the door seemed to actually be better than my current cams, which was a big plus since I was buying it to replace a camera that had been ruined by moisture. The first surprise that I ran into is that this camera uses a micro-SD card, so if you have standard SD cards for your other cameras, be prepared for that. It does come with a cheap no-name 32gb to get you started. The second thing you need to know is that the camera is finicky with the formatting. On the first card run, the data on it would not read on any of my devices. I reformatted the card in my computer, but when I put it in the camera, it said the SD was invalid and had to format again. I accidentally moved the switch to off instead of on after that, and when I turned it back on, it again told me the SD card needed to be formatted, even though I had just formatted it in the camera seconds earlier. The menu is not completely intuitive, but not awful either. I did notice that on the setup screen, it always says the camera is in video mode, even when you have it in photo mode. I was worried about that, but it worked according to my settings rather than what it said. I also suspect the screen will not last long, as only a week into owning the camera, I'm already seeing some distorted lines along the top and bottom in the menu mode. The bracket that mounts the camera is also a little strange. Rather than running the straps through part of the camera body like others I own, there's a plastic bracket on the back of it, rounded to fit the tree. It probably works well if you use the straps to mount directly to the tree, but I use screw-in mounts, and the way that it's positioned makes it awkward and bulky for that. Finally, there's the picture quality. Daytime pictures are not bad, but night pics are pretty awful. They're very grainy and distorted compared to my other cams. Part of that can be attributed to the no-glow flash which never has the quality of IR flash, but I don't think that's the complete issue. Ultimately, I guess, you get what you pay for. If you're looking for a budget camera just to show you what's in the woods, this will probably work for you (though I do have concerns about how long it will last, especially the screen which is already giving me problems a week in). If you prefer higher quality pictures, especially at night, I'd look elsewhere. ... show more
