They can be a bit pricey for use for an aquarium. But they are worth it. Being that they are tumbled. They are smooth all the way around. This makes it ideal for a Betta tank, because they don't have any sharp pointed edges that a betta could rip its fins on. I have 4 lbs of the Amethyst in a 2.5 gallon, and 3 lbs of Rose Quartz in a taller 3 gallon aquarium. I guarantee if you buy these for the purpose of an aquarium. You will not be disappointed. I was searching Amazon for 5 lbs of aquarium gravel. I received this and it is 0.44 lbs. I blame Amazon for showing this when I wanted 5 lbs. I also am upset at myself for not checking every line.
