  • Very good light duty ground anchors!
The 15" Upgraded Earth Ground Anchor,4 Pack Spiral Earth Anchors for trampoline, shed or swing set for high winds are up to the job. They install into the soil very easily by using the includes driver with any drill or 1/4" hex drive impact wrench. The screw on rings make for solid attachment points to secure structures and equipment too. These are sturdy and durable enough to last for many years. One of the best features of using this design of earth anchor is that the tops can be removed to allow you to mow over them and then reattached. The only reason I refer to these as light duty is that they're less hefty than the anchors I'm used to using that allow me to remove and reinstall repeatedly. The drive nut head on these are just not heavy enough to withstand that kind of punishment. Other than that, they'll hold anything through virtually any winds if properly installed. I'm pleased with the quality and performance of these 15" Earth Ground Anchor's and consider them a very good value! ... show more

  • A solution to my problem.
My backyard is like a wind tunnel. I once had a 10x10 tent fly so high, it almost gave me a heart attack. By the time it stopped rolling, all the legs were mangled and broken. I have a free standing basketball basket. When the wind hits, it always tips it over. So now, I have a way of anchoring these items. Tent won’t go up when it’s windy, without these items to anchor it down. It does get a bit tricky because my subsoil is rocky. Obviously you can’t drill through the rock but you can kind of shimmy around it if it’s not a boulder. This will be so much better than the usual spike. You can use the attachment tool and a drill or just spike it in and then use a rod through the hole to twist it I to the ground. I’m old so I will use every opportunity to use an electric tool. ... show more

  • Anchors Drill Right on Down
Pleased with these anchors. I plan on anchoring a swing set that tends to blow over in high winds. These anchors come with a drill driver socket that fits over the end of the anchor after removing the threaded attachment eye. They did a nice job of burying themselves using the Dewalt 20v Hammerdrill I have. I am sure you could do this manually with a rod thru the eyelet or ratchet and socket but it would be a lot more work. Obviously large rocks or roots will be problematic. You might have to back the anchor out and select a different spot. And I was able to reverse the anchor out with the drill, but not sure this would have been nearly as easy if the anchor had been in place for several months. ... show more

  • Solid Anchors For Tents
I can find so many uses for this. My main use is just to anchor our tents in semi solid soil. Make sure you use an impact wrench or hammer drill to get this into the ground. It does come with a socket bit to drive this in. After driving it into the ground, all you have to do is screw in the screw eye and you're good to go. The hole for the screw eye is 1/2" and 1/2" or less diameter rope should be able to sleeve right through it. The eyes have no burrs in it to create friction as well. If there is, then just lightly file it smooth and it will never fray your rope. It's made very well with solid welds that are very clean. The paint job on it is not too bad but you'd want to spray paint it again it after several uses. I highly recommend spaying it a bright orange so that your ankles or shins won't trip over this. ... show more

  • Easy to put in the ground
I got these for fox traps, and they work perfectly. I use an impact driver to put these in the ground and then hook up the metal chain to the eye hole on this anchor. I used to use T-posts for ground anchors, but they are a lot of work, a lot of weight, and these new anchors are much easier to set/remove. I'll be buying more of these later for other purposes (like holding down sun shades and tents). ... show more

  • Might be tricky to get back out without using a drill
Got these to anchor down my 10 x 10 canopy. These come with a removable loop at the top. You remove this to use a drill and the provided drill adapter bit. I don't see any real issues with that other than putting the bit onto the anchor. Two things about that: 1, the bit is a tight fit due to the paint on the anchor, and 2, it's a fairly shallow bit and it seems that it could slip off if you are not careful. That said, I expect that using a drill and the adapter will work fine for anchoring these into the ground and to get them back out. As for the removable loop at the top - it is threaded on and the threads will be tight when putting the anchor in, but when it comes to taking the anchors back out, I expect that the removable loop will unscrew before the anchor backs out. If it does, then I'll need to use a wrench on it to back it out. A 7/16" wrench fits on it perfectly, so I plan to add that to the set. The quality of these anchors is reasonably good. The welds aren't perfect, but should hold up fine. The paint finish is okay and I like that these are orange giving them visibility when in the ground. The product pictures show the two methods for getting these into the ground, but you only get the drill adapter bit, not the rod they show in the picture. ... show more

  • Should Be Durable
A couple of months ago I planted several trees. We live in an area where we regularly get very strong east winds and my trees need support until they are well established, so I ordered these anchors so I could tie the trees in place. These anchors are well made and should be durable. The flutes are wide enough to have decent holding power in our hard clay soil. To install, just screw off the eyelet on top and use the included hex driver and a drill to drive the anchor into the ground. After that, just screw the eyelet back in. There are longer anchors on the market, so depending on your application you may need something larger as these are only 15” long. ... show more

  • Work great
These work perfect in the sand. These are nice size to stay in the ground. You take the round end off that your canopy or tie downs hook to, and then put the end on for drill attachment and my impact wrench worked perfectly. Remove the end and put the round piece back on and attach your tie downs. I get a lot of wind and it always pulls my stakes out of the ground, and these are made to with stand the wind and hold my canopy perfectly in the wind. So far these have held up and if I have any issues I will update my review.! ... show more
