Okay I know based on the pictures, I’m not a welder by trade or even as a hobby, but I have used one of the cheapest ones you can buy and this one is much better than the HF one I have now. It is easy to adjust, and the presets make it easier to get started than my other one. It feeds wire nicely and makes it very consistent, which is something you appreciate more in the budget end of welders. It sounds smooth and spatter is less than the other one by a lot. The one thing I wish it had was wire speed separate from the current control. That would make dialing it in just a little easier. I did notice a little overtightening on the electrode holder that caused a few copper wires to snap but that doesn’t seem to impact anything. The grounding clamp is really nice, and much better quality than other ones I have seen. It would be nice to have the MIG part detachable to make storage easier, but at this price I’d say that’s just me being picky. The support was really good and they answered all of my questions. If you have any issues, I have no doubt that you can get a solution from them. Overall, I am happy with the welder for as little as weld, this works perfectly. ... show more

    • This inexpensive MIG welder works as advertised
I found this welder a complete product ready to use out of the box, While it took a little time to fiqure out settings, the mig welder works very good. I am using it at 110 Volt, and it have plenty of power to weld thin sheet metal. I havent tried thicker steel yet, but it appears to be suitable for larger jobs. The only drawback I discovered was there wasn't much in the way of operating instructions and too many saftey precausions. ... show more

    • 5 guys in our shop each bought 1, only 1 works after a week
1 caught on fire inside welder, 1 arced back to the welder and fried it, Mine the electrical cord melted and welded the plug into the wall, 1 just never worked right out of the box and 1 guy is scared to even open his.

Ok first I have been welding since 2000. I have owned Miller Hobart and lincoln welders. I owned mfg company for 25 years. Then I retired and sold everything. I got talked back into building frames and tanks. 10;gauge/ 1/8 mild steel up to 1/4 material. I did nosy 2500 to 4000 dollars on a new welding rig. I ought the Gouhzi 140 MiG flux core welder. Paid about 100 with shipping. It’s quality is ok for I am doing. It welded very well, for making frames and waste tanks. I was impressed with it. I bought a second one for back up. Just in case.     • It works!
I am new to welding and purchased this unit to try welding as a hobby. I was able to load the flux core wire easily although the wire unwound quickly...but it still feeds. The ground connection was a little confusing. The manual says DCEN for flux core. One would think that this means connecting the ground cable to the negative plug. Not so, it is connected to the plug labeled +. Next, inside the lid there is a nice table with recommended initial settings. For flux core 0.03" and 1/16 inch metal, it lists the recommended voltage at 6 and the wire feed speed at 3-4. However, the voltage dial goes from -5 to +5 volts. The wire feed dial goes from 7.5 to 24.6 ft/min. The manual also lists the voltage range 16-20.4 volts. So the recommended voltage and wire speed are below the range stated in the manual. Note: manual pdf shows the proper ground connections but the actual manual in the box does not have that figure. There is a digital display but I am not sure what it is displaying. When set to 0.03" flux core, the digital display goes from 40 to 140 when the wire speed dial is turned. Turning the voltage dial does not affect the digital display. Note: I understand this now..Amps are displayed In the Amazon description it shows 24 hr customer service, but no phone number or email are provided in the manual so who knows how to contact them. The manual is not very helpful. I wish that it explained what the knobs do. For example, does the wire speed automatically set the voltage? Then does the voltage knob increase or decrease voltage from the automatic settings? These questions should be explained in the manual or in the product videos. Note: I did contact the seller. They did respond promptly but their answers were not that helpful. There is a helpful table with recommended settings...however, it is so small that it is really hard to read (and who knows how to set the machine to the recommended settings). Note: the table stuck onto welder is apparently not for this model welder. This thing really needs a table of initial settings as a function of steel thickness. This would really help beginners like me. But, the machine looks cool and it works (at least for flux core) ... show more
