This product replaces an inexpensive, collapsible metal frame which squeaked whenever I adjusted my sleeping position.The collapsible frame also required a box spring as it only had one cross member. I recently prchased a new mattress for an extra bed room and the Superray looked sturdy and was priced right. It took about 20 minutes to assemble. Lots of screws to tighten with an Allen wrench so wrist strength needed. Loose slats fit perfectly and set into brackets with a good push. Once fully assembled and tightened this bed frame is very solid. And no noise when you move around. Its perfect for a mttress with no box spring My only complaint is that the plastic retainer clips used to keep the mattress from sliding off don't stay on. The clips will pop off with a small bit of pressure fom the mattress. I have been using the product off and on for a month in our guest room without the clips and it hasn't been an issue. ... show more

    • A solid frame but watch out for your toes!

It's easy to assemble and makes a solid base even for a mattress only bed. I really like the space underneath for slide-under baskets to store things. It also has conveniently drilled holes for solidly attaching to a headboard. One down side are the frame's feet, the center ones especially but the end ones too. They are right on the edge of the frame and easy to hit with bare feet while making the bed. It would have been nice to recess them to provide some clearance that would save my toes. The other is less serious but it's very hard to move the bed once it's fully assembled with mattress and headboard. That's because it lacks casters and there's no way to attach any. It's not a serious fault as with all the under bed clearance it's easy to clean under it but make sure you assemble it where it's going because it can become a monument in the room. ... show more
