Because your floor must be Rigid Core Vinyl Plank (SPC or RVP), it is a stone-plastic composite material, which contains stone powder; Floor cracks occur when at least two or more cuts are required to make long cuts and corner cuts.If you want to cut it,Each cut can only cut 1/16 inch, which is equal to that each cut is the upper surface of the floor. (requires some skills and control your strength)
  • Replacement blade can be got at the online official brand store (MANTISTOL).
  • If your cutter cannot cut an 8mm floor, please remove the blade and reassemble it, almost because the blade back does not fit the blade holder.

    • Don't rely on scoring and snapping...

While a bit pricey, this cutter is incredible for the DIYer and maybe pros as well. Scoring with a blade and snapping always leaves a bit of a jagged edge and even if it doesn't, you still have to back-cut the attached underlayment if there is one, which on my 250sf + of LVP there was. Way easier and faster. On a few cuts, I was just a bit off in order to align with the previous cuts to ensure ample expansion space and/or tight enough finish to have a transition cover it all. I could cut off a 1/16" of this with no problem. Cons: rip cuts are tedious and temperamental. With some patience and practice, I was able to make them without cracking into the save side. My rip cuts fell under the baseboard, so I used a circular saw with fine tooth blade and it worked great. The set screw to hold the handle in place can work it's way out so don't carry the cutter by the handle. Good tool, great time saver. ... show more

This chopping machine is perfect for installing LPV and will save a ton of time. The blade is like cut your finger off sharp (with just touching it) and makes light work of the cuts. Two gripes... 1. The guides do not stay in place 2. You really can't cut lengthwise, even with scoring multiple times. It just shatters the LPV :( ... show more

    • A Game Changer for the DIYer

Last Summer I installed SmartCore Ultra vinyl in the lower level of a home on concrete and did all the cutting and snapping manually. Lots of complex angles and offsets. Huge amounts of waste and lots of time. I wish I had looked for this product earlier. I like the look and durability of the SmartCore product but its thickness (7.5mm) and working characteristics make it difficult to install quickly. This year I installed essentially the same product in another home and loaded up on the right tools, including this one. It's a pro-quality device and has been a game-changer for me. It cuts cleanly lengthwise or endwise, the blade stays relatively sharp and can be sharpened when it dulls. It has a ruler and guides with tension knobs like you would expect from a professional product. Because it can stay in the room with you, eliminates most of the back and forth for cutting. I was able to also notch cut with great precision. I used it for 95% of my cuts. Very little waste and you can shave stock down if you make a mistake. Although not required, for me, the '1,2,3' method worked well..progressively cut deeper and slice through on the third cut. It will cut through the attached underpad as well. Clean up took a fraction of the time. Easily cut my time in half and gave a better looking product in the end. Highly recommended. ... show more

This makes installing LVP a piece of cake. I can't say enough good things about this tool. I used it for 60"x8" LVP and cuts were clean, quick and easy while greatly reducing errors and waste. Ripping the 60" was a piece of cake with not one cracked board even at 1" wide. Just remember when ripping to make partial cuts along your line ,gradually going through the product. I am so glad I went with the 13" cutter, it made all cuts easier and lining up planks to cut was very easy and super accurate. Love this tool! ... show more

I should have known better than to trust Amazon's near 5 star review. This product is absolutely terrible! No instructions, missing screw for the handle, cheap build quality and terrible blade. I've made about five cuts with this with this before it became so dull that it will not thought the insulation of lvp. This is the Chinese garbage that you would expect from Amazon.
